Word on the street is that two regional restaurant chains are independently considering setting up shop in the 8,700-square-foot property at 521 Firestone Road in Goleta, the former home of Elephant Bar, which closed last September.

    The claims of suitors are pretty sketchy, as I believe the broker repping the property is the only source…

    Seeing this written out I now see that a Firestone Walker Brewery Restaurant would fit in there like they named the street for it. Also a great fit for that location.

    I still say it’s a perfect location for a Texas-style honky-tonk bar and barbecue joint. Patrons could screech and howl all night long and there are no neighbors to disturb. Plus, there’s lots of parking. Hell, y’all could even roast a pig there.

      Great idea!

      A resurrection of the old ‘Texas Chili Factory’ (near the Dutch Garden) when the foot-stompin’ group ‘Chuck Wagon & the Wheels’ would get everyone dancing to their bawdy tunes.
