Reader Brendan let me know that iGrill Korean BBQ at 3132 State Street has been closed for a couple of weeks. I stopped by and spoke with an associate who told me that they are in the process of changing the menu and some of the staff, and hope to reopen in another week.

    It should remain closed.

I’ll give it one last try after they change their menu, but that was the blandest, most mediocre Korean BBQ I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s a shame, since there’s nothing like it between here and Oxnard.

It wasn’t real Korean food, it was some bland version halfway between Korean cuisine and I dunno what. And it wasn’t enough. It’s not like anyone would have to travel to Korea to do research on this kind of food. Just get in the car and head south.

There are no Korean restaurants in Santa Barbara. They pretty much have a concept that was guaranteed to succeed if they can only make some half way decent Korean food.

If you are in the North County, SizzlinGogi in Santa Maria has been great.
