Owner Michael Palmer tells me that McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams hopes to debut its inaugural, flagship ice cream parlor this week at 728 State Street, formerly Java Jones and Espresso Roma Café. After a nearly forty year absence from company-owned retail scooping, the new parlor will be located less than a mile from both McConnells’ headquarters (which opened in 1949 at the corner of State and Mission Streets) and The Old Dairy where, to this day, McConnell’s continues to produce its award-winning ice creams.

My question is this … who owns the McConnells Ice Cream
place on the corner of Mission and De La Vina? If it is not owned

same? I am been curious about this since I read that McConnells was
opening a retail store for the first time in 40 years.
What is the McConnell’s at Mission and DLV if not “company-owned retail scooping”?
It is a franchise
