I stopped by to check out the status of some restaurants on De La Vina Street and here is my report:

  • Los Agaves, coming to 2911 De La Vina Street (formerly Jake’s), appears to be ready to start remodeling. I estimate it will be several months before they open.
  • Daily Grind, coming to 2912 De La Vina Street (formerly Taco Bell), seems to be in the early stages of reconstruction. I estimate it will be several months before they open.
  • Our Daily Bread, coming to 2700 De La Vina Street (formerly Mimosa), is well in to the construction phase with new walls being added. I estimate it will be at least a month before they open.
  • Los Gallos at 2009 De La Vina Street is currently closed and has a sign on the window that reads “Dear Los Gallos Patrons, We thank you for your continued patronage to our establishment. At this time, we have decided to make some renovations to improve our location over the next months. Therefore, we regretfully inform you that our doors will be closed on February 1, 2013. Unfortunately we will be unable to provide a date for when we will reopen but we would like to offer you our sincere gratitude for continually enjoying our restaurant. Please keep your eyes and ears open for when we re-open our new and improved Los Gallos Restaurant! With Thanks We Wish You Health and Amazing Salsa! The Los Gallos Restaurant Management and Staff”

I asked at the current ODB last week and they are saying mid March.

Do you know if Daily Grind is moving or just opening a second location?

  2. Sam says:

I’m very happy about these developments and wish they would all hurry up already.

Any update on Los Agaves on De la Vina? I might just live on that once they open, but want to be sure they open first.
(I will still patronize Mayo’s especially for meat from the carniceria, and the occasional visit to El Sitio.)

I hope ODB people are okay. I never knew it would take this long to remodel. How do they survive?!

I’m just impatient, especially for Los Agaves.

I wanted to add to this website that the Los Agaves
location is going in where ‘Mazatlan’ was formerly. Jake’s is just
    up the street.
