The popular South Coast Deli opened their 4th location on Monday with lines out the door.
In addition to having eateries on Chapala St., Carrillo St. and in Goleta, owners Dar & Jim St. John have opened a new eatery at 6521 Pardall Rd in Isla Vista, the former home of McBurley’s and Espresso Roma as well as the birthplace of The Habit and Kinko’s.
The menu will be exactly the same one that locals know & love including the always-in-demand South Coast Turkey sandwich. The hours are different than other locations and they have televisions for sports fans. The new Isla Vista location offers a “Walk of Shame” special which is a beer for $1.50 with the purchase of a breakfast sandwich, until noon on Saturdays & Sundays.
Hour are Mon – Fri 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Sat – Sun 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.. For more information call (805) 770-2669 or visit southcoastdeli.com.
$1.50 for a breakfast sandwich and a beer?! That’s awesome. This location hasn’t had a good track record of late, but if anyone has a chance SCD does as their food is good and they are bringing in $$$ at the other locations so they can probably survive here during off months. Welcomed addition to IV.
I had to change the wording. I was told “beer with a breakfast sandwich for $1.50” but what that meant was “beer for $1.50 with purchase of a breakfast sandwich.” Sorry for the confusion!
Bummer. Sounded too good to be true.
Agree with SL.
Walk of Shame! Awesome!
The most important thing about this is now there’s a SCD location open for dinner. Huzzah!
Not sure the Walk of Shame ever makes it up that far from DP.
This blog is a great find! John Dickson is spot on from what I have read so far. I have my favorite places in Santa Barbara and South Coast Deli is one of them. Great sandwiches and salads at reasonable prices and even when they are busy the food comes out fast and is made with pride. Today I’m going to look for more postings from John Dickson as I’m sure there are many other great restaurants in town I’ve yet to discover and have been here for more than ten years. If anyone has a link to http://www.santabarbara.com blog archives, please post it. Thank you.
Start at http://santabarbara.com/dining/ for reviews then click “restaurant news” If you click at the very bottom of that page you’ll see a link for “older posts” (and blogs). The actual restaurant reviews/places are on the first link and where you can leave reviews as you want.
