Cubaneo is a fast-casual Cuban restaurant located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, in a shared space with Modern Times Brewing and Shaker Mill. We are looking for a head chef to lead our team.
This is a dynamic, full-time salaried role for someone who is very experienced in professional kitchens. This role is expected to cook and prepare food, submit orders from purveyors, complete weekly inventory, submit invoices, hire and train staff, maintain kitchen sanitation, control food and labor cost, help create menu items, and be flexible to handle unpredictable situations that may arise. We offer competitive pay plus tips. The ideal applicant will:
-Have at least 5 years professional cooking experience, as well as kitchen management experience as a sous chef, chef, or kitchen manager.
-Be able to work nights and weekends.
-Be able to stand and work 8-10 hours per day.
-Be able to follow systems and protocols and teach others to work within that system.
-Be reliable, timely, and responsible. Must set a strong example for the whole staff.
-Have a positive attitude and a strong desire to grow and learn.
