The mission of the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony is to create a community that encourages students to develop their talents, while encouraging one another to grow on and off stage.
About
The Santa Barbara Youth Symphony has many programs that enhance the musical experience of students in Santa Barbara and Ventura County. The Santa Barbara Youth Symphony was founded in 1974. In 2011, it became an integral part of the Santa Barbara Symphony's suite of music education programs. This continuum takes students through their first hands-on string lesson from to developing basic ensemble skills in Junior Strings, and finally into the Youth Symphony. These programs come together to make up the Santa Barbara Youth Symphony Programs, which engage hundreds of students in the act of music-making each year.
