Captain Fatty's Craft Brewery began its voyage into the the beer scene when friends Jon "Captain" Wadell and Bryan "Fatty" Anderson began home-brewing beer more than a decade ago. Friend Preston Angell soon joined the team and they set sail for Goleta in 2014. They have since remodeled and expanded to a 15-barrel system with 120 barrels of fermentation capacity. They designed a brewery that offers a delicious selection of craft beer and has quickly become a hot spot for beer enthusiasts, live music, gourmet food trucks, and local families to enjoy.

Captain Fatty's also brews a non-alcoholic rootbeer for the kids. Originally the founders wanted to make sure their kids would have a fun place to hang out and enjoy themselves so they created a kids section complete with chalk wall, toys, cartoons, and more. It gives young families a chance to get out, have a beer, eat some food, and kids can enjoy some homemade root beer. Keeping everyone happy is the goal.

Captain Fatty's is dedicated to helping the community: from donating their product to countless auctions, fundraisers and events, to creating a place that people are welcomed and can take a breath from the busyness of life. Catptain Fatty's loves having live music and the new talent that it brings as well as letting customers try a wide variety of tasty food while food trucks and pop ups get to show off their talents.

Captain Fatty's at "The Project" is their second location. The Project opened at 214 State Street in Santa Barbara in 2019 and is an equal partnership between Corazon Cocina restaurant, which has a location in the Santa Barbara Public Market at 38 West Victoria Street, and Captain Fatty's brewery. Santa Barbara Captain Fatty's is a little different than the Goleta location in that The Project home is not just beer but also offers cider, wine, and guest taps. Tacos and beer are some of the best things in life and at The Project you have the opportunity to have the freshest beer alongside the best tacos in town in Santa Barbara's popular funk zone neighborhood.
