Ortega Park is a family-oriented park on the east side adjacent to Santa Barbara Junior High School. Ortega Park offers a softball field, an outdoor basketball court, a playground rated for five- to twelve-year-olds, and a four-foot-deep pool (open in summer only) with on-duty lifeguard.

A master plan is being developed for a total transformation of the 9.5 acre Ortega Park. A committee is investigating the feasibility of installing a skateboard park, artificial turf fields, a new ball field, a fence, security lighting, new restrooms, picnic facilities, and on site parking. In addition, the plan will evaluate development of a new, year-round swimming pool, a splash playground, and a shared pool/community building.
