More Mesa Beach is a narrow beach hidden away below the bluffs known as More Mesa Open Space. There is very little sand at high tide. Because of the remoteness it is popular with nude sunbathers. The clothing-optional beach is to the right/west once you reach the beach. Clothes are required if you turn to the left/east. There is no parking near the trailhead on Mockingbird Lane so it is best to park on Vieja Drive and walk up Mockingbird Lane. It is a 3/4 mile walk from Vieja Drive to More Mesa Beach.

Santa Barbara laws prohibit nudity on the beach except for a section of Bates Beach at the county line between Santa Barbara and Ventura. When it comes to nudity at More Mesa Beach, in most cases authorities do look the other way, but not always, and you might receive a citation.
More Mesa Open Space is one of the most outstanding scenic and environmentally sensitive pieces of undeveloped open space remaining on the Coast of Southern California. Its open grasslands provide both valuable habitat and miles of informal trails. With sweeping views of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the coast, More Mesa is fronted by one of the largest and most pristine white sand beaches on Santa Barbara County's South Coast. This undeveloped 300-acre coastal bluff mesa is located in the Goleta Valley, just west of the community of Hope Ranch and about two miles east of Goleta Beach Park and UCSB.
