Rideau
Vineyard 1562 Alamo Pintado Rd. Solvang, CA. (805) 688 0717 Tasting: 11-4:30 Fee: Picnic Area and Wonderful Veranda This winery has the most unique ambience of any of the wineries we visited. The Victorian style tasting room, which is an historical landmark, probably had something to do with it. Rideau produces award winning Rhone-style wines and is best-known for its both its Viognier, which is quite creamy and apple-y and Tempranillo, which is an unusual varietal with both fruit and spice. Their Chateauneuf Cuvee consistently wins awards for the winery, as well, but wasn't available for tasting the day we were there. |
