A.J. Comstock Museum - Set in Mission Park, this small museum has presented its antique fire equipment in a unique format.  You can see the entire exhibit through the glass, so it's effectively open 24/7.  Albinger Archeological Museum - A fun museum that features the five majore cultures that have found home in Ventura - Chumash, Spanish, Chinese, American and Mexican. Mission San Buenaventura - This beautiful mission is the last built by Padre Junipero Serra, the force behind many of the missions here in California.  It is reputed to be his favorite.  Channel Islands Visitor's Center - A wonderful place to experience the natural history and beauty of the Channel Islands.  There is a bookstore and observatory with great views of the harbor. Museum of History and Art - A museum with something for everyone.  When we were there there was a watercolor exhibit, a docent giving an informative tour and a special art event going on in the courtyard.   Olivas Adobe - An wonderful example of Spanish architecture depicts how the wealthy and powerful lived.  This adobe is over 150 years old and featured on the National Register of Historic Places. Ortega Adobe -  This charming little adobe shows how the common folk lived.  The building features cut aways depicting building techniques and still-lifes of homey scenes. Ventura City Hall - This beautiful building is a working, functioning city hall.  However, it is worth checking out - the architecture is amazing. Ventura Harbor Village and Marina -  A wonderful community filled with shops, boats, restaurants, the Channel Islands Visitor's Center and miles of white sand beaches.   Ventura Pier -   The focal point for much of the waterfront fun, the pier hosts a fine dining and a casual dining restaurant and is the daily haunt for many a local fisherman. GPS Coordinates - Each year, the use of hand-held GPS (Global Positioning System) receivers become more common place as location-finding tool.
