Date: September 12 - 14, 2008

Reserve the dates on your calendar now because Ziggy Marley, Jason Mraz, Natasha Bedingfield, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Jackie Greene, Kate Voegele, Jim Bianco, Iration, Shades of Day, Hoots & Hellmouth, Jesca Hoop, and Matthew McAvene are just a few of the big names signed to play this year's West Beach Music & Arts Festival in Santa Barbara on September 12, 13, and 14. The beach just west of Stearns Wharf has been reserved for the second annual three-day family-friendly music and arts festival – one of the only festivals in the US that takes place on the beach. Twiin Productions is presenting the three-day event in association with Jacalyn Kane Productions and COX Media and KRUZ@97.5 are major sponsors. Discussions with other media and corporate sponsorship entities are underway.

"Some of the biggest, most successful music festivals in the country play in places like the desert and the mountains," co-producer Jeremy Pemberton explained. “Santa Barbara offers something unique: a comfortable, ocean view seat right on the beach. Where else can you relax, sink your toes into the sand, and listen to world class "live" music on the beach? And this year, with the collaboration of Jacalyn Kane Productions, we have a lot of top name talent coming to town. Jason Mraz, for example, recently sold out Neil S. Blaisdell Concert Hall, a 2,158 seat venue in Honolulu, forcing a venue change to the more expansive Waikiki Shell (8,400 capacity) which he also SOLD OUT!

The festival will kick off on Friday, September 12, at 4:00pm with Happy Hour on the beach. In addition to three days with two stages of non-stop rock, reggae, and jam bands, the festival is adding arts and crafts vendors and activities oriented toward children, so that families can come and enjoy the concert together.

Twiin Productions is expecting about 5,000 attendees per day this year as the concert continues to build its name locally and around the country. In preparation, Pemberton said, “Last year, we set up eight Hawaiian-style cabanas right next to the stage with private food and drink service – they are basically like the Box Suites of sporting events. They sold out and proved to be so popular that we’re adding a total of 22 cabanas this year.

Those preferring a less expensive seat on the beach can bring blankets and beach towels. Food and beverage options, including alcohol, will be available for purchase.

Early Bird three-day passes are priced at $ 95. Tickets go on sale on May 27th. After June 10th, three-day pass prices go up to $105, and after July 1st they go up to $115, so early purchase is encouraged. There will be single day tickets available as well, priced from $30 - $55. Children under the age of 10 will gain free admission. Tickets available at www.westbeachfestival.com.

Twiin Productions is currently working on shuttle and Amtrak arrangements to accommodate the transportation and parking needs of locals as well as people coming up from Los Angeles and down from North Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, as well as those flying into surrounding airports.
