I don't live in SB anymore, but whenever I visit, California Pasta is on the list of things to do. I LOVE CP's food...ESPECIALLY THE GARLIC FETA CHICKEN SANDWICH! The service is always great and I've NEVER been disappointed with the food. In fact, I am so happy to find out that they opened a new restaurant at 5 Points Shopping center (where Milano's used to be). GREAT food with an extensive menu. Nice job on the remodel too!! :) Wishing we had a CP in the OC! Any thoughts of opening one down here? ;)

The whole menu is great in theory, and actually tastes okay too. However, every single thing I have tried on the menu has been totally drenched in oil. I am not a health freak or anything, but the sandwiches drip oil, and the pasta leaves a pool of oil on the plate. It all tasted okay, but please back off the oil! It would still taste great and be much more fresh without all that oil.

One of my favorite places when I was a student! I wish they would bring back the chicken sandwhich with feta/garlic. I realize feta is more expensive, but that sandwich was one of a kind.

My husband and I go here about once a week. You can't get any better. The service is great, the food is great and the price is pretty good. Has been around forever, and we will continue to go here. They have so many great dishes, I can't even tell you which is my favorite. The sauces are good, the wine is good and the kids plates are good.

Great to back in SB and once again to visit our favorite place to eat while here. For 6 yrs we have tried a variety of dishes on the menu and have never been disappointed. The lemon herb chicken is great and my husband loves the roasted chicken pepper sandwich, he thinks the clam chowder is the best in town, and he has tried them all. I rated the service 5, because I have been there when the line of customers is out the door and beyond and we continue to be impressed how soon our order arrives. We think the remodeling of the CP looks great,they have taken great strides in providing a pleasant and enjoyable place to eat and relax. Wish we had a CP back East!

Order anything off the menu with the words "cajun" and "chicken", and you won't be disappointed. I dream about the Cajun Chicken linguine and the Cajun Chicken sandwich. The macaroni salad that comes with the sandwich is bland though, so ask to substitute the Caesar salad instead. Yum!

The Caesar Salad and garlic bread are to die for. The marinara sauce on the my spaghetti seemed like low-budget fast food and not good at all. Maybe next time I'll try a pasta with a different sauce.

the best vegetarian sandwich i've had in a long time! beautiful presentation, lovely waitstaff, and great spanish guitar the evening i went! i miss the side caesar's too! good to know i can still order it if i want it instead of the pasta salad!

I'm so disappointed... For months we have been looking forward to the re-opening of CA Pasta... we could practically taste the cajun chicken! Well, what a let down. I got the cajun chix avocado sandwich, my all time favorite. It used to come with fresh, crisp caesar salad. Now it comes with bland, dry pasta salad (carb overload!). It used to be loaded with slices of cool avocado - now it has a smear of some watery guacamole that tastes like it was store bought. Blech!! The chicken was not done - rubbery and very pink in the middle. My friend got the CA Caesar salad and when she got it home and opened it, there was no avocado on it. I just tossed the whole mess and I'm on my way to The Habit for a burger with some real avocado... what a bummer. (Note: did not rate the service as it was a to-go order. We have always had friendly service there.)

California Pasta - Paseo Nuevo writes: I am sorry you were dissappointed in the food. Our intentions are to not change the menu or the products that are being used prior to the renovation. Were were actually very strict on not changing much, especially the pricing. We still use only the freshest ingredients including fresh avocados and chicken from the butcher. We did however change the Caesar salad to a chilled pasta salad that is served with sandwiches because of an overwhelming request for it. Although, if you wish to have a caesar or green salad we are more than happy to accomodate. Please just ask. We really do strive to give excellent food and service. If we ever let anyone down I hope you will let us know so we can try to correct it. As always you can ask for the owner.

I cannot emphasize how amazing the California Pasta is. I am so sad that they had to remodel because I am now left for one more month without this amazing restaurant. The Cajun Chicken Pasta is marvelous as well. The Caesar Salad is perfect and the Garlic bread... well that is something special. I am counting down the days till I am reunited with my favorite italian place in Santa Barbara.

We love this place. We came up to Santa Barbara on February 9 looking forward to eating there and low and behold, they were remodeling. We eat there EVERYTIME we come to Santa Barbara, so we were disappointed, but we will be back. Can't wait to see the remodel.

The food is awesome and the prices are not bad for the portions they serve you. Cajun chicken pasta is yummy and the chicken picatta is good too!!
