Friendly service, amazing food, 10/20/2009
Reviewer: Sally from Santa Barbara, CA
One of the most awesome parts of my week is getting to make time to have a leisurely breakfast by myself sitting outside on the patio at Jeannine's. I absolutely love the salmon and bagel plate with the fresh lemon wedge and amazing thin and perfectly delicious lox. The service is friendly, efficient and prompt and the place is clean, which means a lot to me. I'm hungry just thinking about it!

Rude server, 10/19/2009
Reviewer: Joe Kelly from Santa Barbara, CA
The girl at the counter was quite rude and was rushing customers who were lined up to buy pastries. She was obviously harried due to the morning rush. The poor service colored my opinion of the food because it made me lose my appetite. I will not go back as a result.

wonderful breakfast, 7/24/2009

This was the best french toast I've ever had. Caramelized bananas, buttery syrup, and perfectly cooked challah bread. Very cute and old fashioned atmosphere, friendly service and every pastry looked wonderful. Lots of choices and will definitely be back again.

Best Carrot Cake EVER!, 6/17/2009
Reviewer: Anne from Santa Barbara, CA
If you're looking for an excellent carrot cake, call Jeannine's. I understand they don't bake it themselves but it is fabulous! Call a day ahead to order for a special occasion.

PECAN Pie Bar, 5/19/2009

My friend and I go weekly for a get together and the Pecan Pie Bars. EXCELLENT. Eleanor and her staff are great.

This Place has the best pastries in Santa Barbara, by far. I absolutly love it!

the food for all 4 of us was a little bit pricey, but then again, we were in Santa Barbara where everything is more expensive. The French Toast was one of the best I have had and their sausage had a nice rich flavor. My son, who is the pickiest eater of all time, really enjoyed his pancakes and bacon. The place is a bit crowded, but it is what it is and the family atmosphere lends towards an enjoyable eating experience. I was also impressed that the Barrista knew what a "dirty hot chocolate was" as I own a coffee kiosk and have found a lot of coffee places don't know what you are talking about. We will definately go back on our next trip north!

Cold food... Really?, 1/18/2009
Reviewer: Timothy Brooks from Santa Barbara, CA
I took my wife here recently for a nice anniversary brunch on the recommendation of a friend. It didn't seem to be that busy a day but somehow still took nearly half an hour to get our food. By the time it had finally arrived it was hardly warm. In addition it was over cooked. I was baffled. The service was mediocre for the price (order at the counter and take a number, like Carls Jr.). It was a nightmare finding a place to park. The only saving grace was that my coffee, which was pretty good, came with a cat drawn in foam on it. Overall, however, it was a terrible experience and I will never come back again.

Decent Breakfast - Ok service, 1/1/2009
Reviewer: Mark from Santa Barbara, CA
I have eaten at Jeannines Bakery a few times. it is a crowded place. The tables are really close together. You can hear everyone in there. I ate at the counter a couple of times and it's not even easy to get up and down from there with all of the clutter. The food was average to good.

One of best
Reviewer: Linda from Montecito, CA
Jeannine's food is great but sometimes they're so busy that it may not be what we know they're capable of. EZ to solve - Just let management know & they'll redo or replace your order. Jeannine's wants you (the customer) to be happy! Jeannine's Montecito is tastier at times.

Chocolate Chip Scones are the best!!!
Reviewer: Maisie from Santa Barbara
I come to jeannine's all the time with my dad. And my favorite thing is the chocolate chip scone! But I also think that one of the cashiers named Ellen is so nice. But the bakery itself was a little crazy.

excellent -
Reviewer: Tom from Santa Barbara, CA
The food has excellent flavor - the scones aren't slobbered with sugar (like Starbucks), their cream-of-wheat pancakes are excellent, and the breakfast burritos are superb. Congratulations, Tom

Pricey pancakes!
Reviewer: chee from sb
Why do they say on the menu that the daily special pancakes are $7 a la carte, but when they're written on the "daily specials" board, they're $10? Sadly, the pumpkin pancakes were doughy and the pecans were soggy inside. I think the cakes needed to be cooked longer and the nuts needed to be toasted beforehand. However, the coffee and my mom's club sandwich were good, and the food came within 10 minutes. I'm sad...my stomach wants a refund for the floppyjacks :(

Dry Dry Eggs!
Reviewer: Amy from SB
I took my Mom here once when she was visiting. Having been there before I thought it would be nice. For some reason both of our egg dishes were dry and overcooked (And I mean they were brown and should not have been served!). For the price and lack of service I would at least expect some GOOD FOOD! Unfortunately this isn't the first time I have been disappointed by Jeannine's. I found the service lacking, and I am tired of having to search and fight to sit at a crowded little table. (there is no hostess... you just order and pay then search for a seat) The one good thing I can say is they have good coffee.

Muffins are the best, but have shrunk since they first opene
Reviewer: Michele A from Santa Barbara, CA
Their muffins are really really awesome, but are a lot smaller since they first opened. Very disappointed in that. A little pricey for a small muffin. The coffee is very strong, which is how I like it.

Best Breakfast joint
Reviewer: Christian from Santa Barbara
Jeannine's has the best breakfasts in town. The breakfast burrito and breakfast club are always the best. The only problem with getting breakfast there is that it is always crowded and it takes forever to get your food. So i recommend calling in before and placing your order, so that it's ready when you get there.
