A decent tamale hit
Reviewer: John from VA
Don't go to the east coast for mexican food (the one regret I have for leaving So Cal.) I stop by this place when visiting family - it's the only place open early with tamales to go (hey, I'm usually on east coast time). Good balance of masa and meat, with a zippy sauce. The atmosphere is great; don't go if you frequent places with table clothes.

Raspberry Coconut Roll
Reviewer: Colleen from Goleta, CA
Excellent raspberry coconut roll cake slices. Best I've had and I've had many! I believe they're called Ninos. Whatever; they are delicious.

Ok food/service, inside eating is spotty
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
No air conditioning and can get hot inside with the ovens so I recommend getting it to go. Donuts great, chicken burrito was just Ok so not really recommended except for pastries.

more than a bakery
Reviewer: lemonjelly from santa barbara, ca
Don't let the bakery name fool you, or the fact that the retail portion of the shop appears to all be bakery items, they do have savory items as well! There's a modest, handwritten menu on the wall in the back, offering burritos, tortas, gorditas and tamales. However, no listed prices, just order and hope for the best. I can confirm, at least, at a beef tamale is $2.50. Baked items are 75c-$1.00 each, with typical Mexican sweet breads, and a few doughnuts.
