Good Burger, kind of a dive
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Hard to describe this place. The burger was great though it took way too long to get it but the quality was there for the wait. The inside dining area is like someone's garage. I guess this is Summerland's "Beach" Hamburger place which makes sense, take it to go for the park or beach. The help was young and a little unruly, not a place to take someone to impress but good very slow to get food. I'm thinking Stacky's up the street may be a better sit down hamburger place option but have not tried it yet.

GIMME SOME TOTS!
Reviewer: Teal from Santa Barbara, CA
I am deeply saddened..I was informed yesterday after trekking to Tinker's for some tater tots, that they were out and possibly never returning? I moved here 8 years ago after growing up on tater tots in Northern CA and until recently could only get them after an 8 hour drive home..until I found Tinker's. Hot, crispy, delicious potato gems...who does't love them?! Please bring them back Tinker's! Your burgers are great, but a tasty cheeseburger needs to share it's basket home with some fresh out of the fryer tots. I should give you 5 stars, but not without the tots!

Bun and Burger and Accoutrements

Like burgers (beef and veg)? You will like Tinkers. Many menu choices. Closes at 8 P.M. Sad. Check it out then head to lower State Street. Sit on the stool, talk to chef Josh and get extra onion rings.

Good Diner

Food was really good. Service was fast. Would recommend to try it.

Great food, great service, great location!
Reviewer: Beth from Santa Barbara, CA
I love this place. Food and service are great. Definitely the place to go during a nice day at the beach, or just on any regular day. They offer take out too which is nice. The location I must say is AWESOME... they are walking distance to the gorgeous "lookout park" (overlooking the ocean) so it's very convenient to grab lunch and go to the park to enjoy. You can also walk down to the beach from the park. The park has lots of benches and is kid/pet friendly. All in all, what a delightful little beach shack.

Classic Santa Barbara burgers and fries

I love Tinker's. I always have. I've been going there since I was a little kid with my dad and still to this day it always hits the spot. Always worth the drive out to Summerland.

Horrible Service!
Reviewer: Inez from Santa Barbara, CA
The food at Tinker's is usually very good (didn't get to try it this time), but the service is very bad. Just got back from lunch waited over 40 minutes for food that never came. They skipped over our number and gave the following number their order. When we finally asked for a refund, the cook yelled out this is not mcdonald's you shouldn't expect your food to be done as if it was. I have never gone to a sit down restaurant and waited 40 minutes unless i ordered a steak well done. The cook should really learn some manners and apologize for skipping our order completely rather than imply that Tinker's is not a fast food restaurant when in fact it is.

Great service, Awesome food, Local favorite!
Reviewer: Joe from Santa Barbara, CA
I love going to Tinkers, the burgers are awesome, the veggies are fresh and the place is comfortable. Tinkers is the best kept secret for burgers, I will take a Tinker burger over the Habit anyday. The staff is always curteous and kind, and makes every effort to fufill my needs every time. If you are looking for a hidden gem by the beach with great food and a hometown atmosphere, Tinkers is the place

Good "Basic" food but WAY OVERPRICED
Reviewer: Dave F. from Santa Barbara, CA
This is a good place to hit if you're looking for a quick bite to eat after a long walk on the beach, the only problem is the prices, you can easily drop $15 for a basic burger, fries and Shake. The quality is good, but I can't say it's worth the price. For the same price of a single meal, you can feed a family of 4 at a fast food place, of course you're paying for convenience as well as ambiance, but there is a limit, I regularly drive right by and grab a bite elsewhere for half the price on my way home from my daily walks on the beach.

Closed for the day, but still offered service
Reviewer: Walter from Summerland
I'm new to the area, but have eaten at Tinkers years ago. I called at 820pm twenty mins after closing. The phone was answered with a polite good evening we are closed, but is there something I can help you with anyway. It was perfect. In Santa Barbara we are all treated all too often to some rude I can't wait to get home and party college kid.

Good, solid burger joint
Reviewer: Krista and Tony from Goleta
Being a bit of a burger afficionado, I wanted to try Tinkers, especially after all the good reviews here. I have to say the place does have a great vibe. The burgers are quite good, though not quite as good as my benchmark (Habit). Beyond that though they offer quite a variety especially for such a small place. My wife had the Turkeybrger and raved about it. A healthy alternative with a soft and fresh whole wheat bun to boot. They also offer a chickenburger. I like the options of curley fries, regular fries, rings and even some other types of fries I can't remember. Shakes and unlimited soda, what more can you ask for, We'll definitely be back.

Great burgers

I've been going here a long time. They've managed to keep this just what it is, a beach town burger shack. Awesome burgers, great fries, friendly local atmosphere...thanks!
