Pacucci used to be one of my favorites... what happend?, 12/2/2014
Reviewer: scott from Santa Barbara, CA
I ordered Shrimp Alfredo and it was extremely bland so sent it back. Spent the next 15 minutes listening to the staff talk about it as the restaurant was dead and I could hear everything that was said thinking I was wrong. Ordered a different dish and I am convinced the Chef purposely added an extreme amount of spice or jalepeno or something along those lines to get even as my esophogus was burning the rest of the night and still is giving me an upset stomach. This restaurants food has gone way down hill and is no longer one of my favorites unfortunately.

Poor Service, 3/31/2014
Reviewer: Christine from Wellington, FL
While staying in Santa Barbara on March 20th, I asked someone for a recommendation for a good Italian restaurant and they gave me the name of this place. When we came in, there were two women in front of us and when the host (a male person) went to seat them, he never came back to the host station. We waited for 15 min for someone to seat us and when they (not the host) did, it was at a table in the back room tucked in the furthest corner. We sat there for 20 min and during that time, 4 separate waitresses walked past our table and helped every other table around us, but not once did they approach ours. Now I could have stopped one of them and questioned this, but that's not my job. We got up and left. Poor service = Lost customers.

Disappointing Birthday dinner
Reviewer: Terri from Santa Barbara, CA
Went here for my birthday. What I ordered was overspiced and overcooked so returned it for something else. The rest of the table ate while I waited a long time. After everyone had eaten and the table was cleared, I finally got my birthday dinner while everyone watched me eat. SOOOOO disappointed.

Disappointed !
Reviewer: Richard F.SANTA BARBARA from Santa Barbara, CA
I've been to Pascucci"s a few times, but not for a while. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED THIS PAST WEEKEND. THE SERVICE WAS FINE, BUT THE FOOD WAS TASTELESS. I HAD THE HALIBUT AND IT WAS NOTHING TO RAVE ABOUT. THE DRINKS WERE GOOD AND SO WAS THE DESSERT. BUT, THE MAIN DISH WAS WELL BELOW MY EXPECTATIONS. THE PRICE WAS FAIR, BUT I WILL NEVER COME BACK. ALL FOUR MEALS WERE JUST LIKE MINE. AND I REALLY HAD ENJOYED THIS PLACE IN THE PAST.

Good food, curious service...( seems to vary on each visit).
Reviewer: Virginia Paxton from San Francisco, Ca.
The portions are substantial, and We thought the food was good. The service is...most curious. You enter and often just stand there,..and the someone calls to you to "sit anywhere"- a bit awkward while dining guests stare at you as you wait to be "received".

Great Food and Service

Neat place with a back room that has a neat decor. The food was really good and well presented. Not overly pricey, nice menu selection. Waiters kept me happy so not sure the issue of others there. All around a great place to go.

In response to Marco

Please Marco, I know what sort of restaurants you are speaking of and I know the difference. I wasn't expecting somebody to stand behind me to wipe crumbs off of the table or put a napkin on my lap. But as a daughter of a waitress and a patron of Pascucci for over 3 years know I know what basic service is and should at least have that. If I ask for water and bread, please bring water and bread. Please check on our meal at least once so that we can order more drinks, therefore giving the restaurant more business. If another person brings our meal out and we ask her for another drink because we haven't seen her and she asks you to come out, please come out.

Not a 5 star Restaurant,But....
Reviewer: Marco from Santa Barbara, CA
this is a good restaurant! great food and delicious bread..one advice don't demand a 5 stars service if you aren't not paying for it..there's alot of expensive restaurants where you have your on waiter at all times!! "pay the cost to be the boss".

Constructive Criticism
Reviewer: Amanda from Santa Barbara, CA
Pascucci was one of the first restaurants fiance ever took me to so it holds a special place. We used to go there every weekend I came to visit and then once a week when I moved here. But the service has declined terribly which is why we haven't gone in over a year and a half. But now we have a little dog so we decided to give it a try because we could eat outside. Now I remember why we don't really go anymore but these are simple things that could just be fixed with some extra attention. The food was delicious and we both cleaned our plates but our server was nowhere to be found. We were never given water or extra bread after asking for it. We were celebrating a birthday so were were planning on ordering more than just one drink. If the server had come out to check on us we would have ordered more drinks plus dessert which obviously = more money for the restaurant and at $9.00 - 10.00 each, a higher tip for the server. Another person brought our food out so when we tried to ask for those items AGAIN she said she would go find our server. Minutes went by and I finally got up to go to the bar myself to get my fiance another drink only to see our server chit-chatting by the bar with the girl that told us she would go get him. I'd really love to eat here more but I want to relax when I go out, not have to serve drinks to my table myself because I'm being ignored by my waiter. Pascucci, please work on your service! We'd love to be faithful customers again.

Needs a deep clean!
Reviewer: Sophia from Santa Barbara, CA
My kids love Pascucci (bread, pasta, what's not to like?) but the past few times I have eaten here I have REALLY noticed the fact that the banquettes and decor need a clean. Love the deep velvet booths, but don't want to sit in them these days because they have moved beyond tired and are approaching sordid. Nonetheless, the place is solid for standard, American-style Italian food with big portions, salads are great, can't beat that bread - and the drinks are good too.

Dinner at Pascucci's
Reviewer: APRIL HELSDON from Santa Barbara, CA
I was so excited to finally take my fiance to Pascucci's. I love it there. Great food. Well what a disappointment!!! Our order was taken promptly, we got out drinks in an orderly manner then came our entrees. We were starving and I got the Sample Ravoli plate I love. My fiance wanted to try the meatball sandwich. He received a sandwich and the more I stared at it, the more I knew something was wrong. I said to him that does not look like a meatball sandwich. It looked like a Pannini with mozzarelli, tomato and basil. He already ate 1/2 of the sandwich. I called the server over and he noticed my fiance's sandwich was not meatball. With a heavy sigh he promised to bring over a meatball sandwich. So really what was that. Do you know how "bad service" can ruin wonderful food? Well we will go back. We will be very careful though. Disappointing.

Excellent in every way

Our family went to Pascuccis on a Sunday evening. the service was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. The bread is absolutely wonderful and with marinara sauce, it is like eating manna in heaven!
