Bad service!
Reviewer: Sara from Santa Barbara, CA
I walked in there for the first time today, right as we walked in we got bad service. The girl in the cashier (blond hair with glasses) said it was closed when it wasnt closing time. The guy in the back said it was ok to order. The girl comes back and asks in a rude manner "What are you going to get?" Being my first time i needed a couple minutes to decide. She seemed to be in a hurry so we decided to leave. Never ate there and definitely wont go back.

Raised prices and changed menu
Reviewer: Alex from Santa Barbara, CA
Probably won't be coming as often as they raised their prices and took my favorite salad off the menu. Still good food though

I love the 2.50 tacos here! This is also one of the only places that serves avocado salsa, which is so delicious. A great place for a quick bite to eat while going to farmer's market.

This was our favorite...

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Goleta area, but recently when I've gone in they have gotten my order wrong. The menu is still good but it seems that they are unable to carry it out well now. I think they need to learn how to take orders better for it to once again be a great restaurant.

Inedible burrito: tasteless gristle
Reviewer: Greg from Santa Barbara, CA
We used to like New Baja Grill, but this is the second time we've gotten a Rosarito burrito that was just inedible. First of all, the steak was half gristle, I was literally picking every other piece out of my mouth. Then, the meat was strangely tasteless, the rice had no flavor, and the burrito was just a soggy, water mess. Literally couldn't finish it. I guess the only good thing was that they made the burrito in about 30 seconds.

Nice Surprise!

I remember going here awhile back and it was standard fare but I guess the "new" baja grill is definitly "new" and good! Food very good, quite possibly among the top Mexican food around. A little language troubles with taking orders but not too bad. Salsa bar was good. I am guessing mostly authentic cooking in a take out format is a win win for me. Makes taco bell look silly esp when you can get your food almost as quick. Very good. The mexican style drinks out is an excellent touch, try the orange whip!

Our Weekly Take Out
Reviewer: Diane from Goleta
Just about every week we go to Baja Grill and bring home the Arroz Con Pollo. It is really a nice salad, with some rice and grilled chicken on the side. They sprinkle a little cheese anound and top it with a scoop of guacamole. All this with a great cilantro dressing. We like the dressing so much we ask them to hold the salsa. It is a great meal. Other things are good too, but we really like this dish.

always consistent & good!

A Goleta BEST
Reviewer: Nicole from Goleta, CA
Its quick so it's perfect to run in and pick up a delicious lunch and their nachos are to DIE for. The pricing is fair and the atmosphere is wondrful. Its a fun place to sit and eat lunch with fast and friendly service and excellent food. Anyone who is taking a trip to Goleta should really pick up a burrito or something here.

Best (fast) food in the area; best Mexican in Goleta?
Reviewer: Holden from Goleta
There might be a place or two tucked away that I don't know about in more of the downtown area, but this is the best Mexican food I have come across in Goleta proper (Mariscos on Haley St. in SB is unbeatable). It currently destroys any competition from IV or Goleta (Freebird's, El Sitio, Super Cuchas, Rosarito pale in comparison) or any of the other conveyor-belt burrito shops around. Man, I haven't had authentic chile colorado since living in the San Joaquin Valley (no shortage of Mexican food there). I haven't even tried out their full menu 'cause its so satisying just ordering that burrito, but other favorites are the Polla Asada Nachos and the Pescado fajitas. Easily beats out the surrounding competition, unless you're looking for a sit down full service restaurant. Also, the manager is very chill, very generous, he doesn't seem to forget a face, and he hooks it up for regulars (I tip to hedge my bets).

Best Horchata ever!
Reviewer: Justine from SB
I was shopping at Border's on my lunch hour and needed to pick up a quick bite to take back to work... my chicken burrito was decent (I have to admit I didn't get a chance to eat it until later in the afternoon, so it didn't get a fair shake) but the horchata was the best I've ever tasted, and I'm a bit of a connoisseur. Sometimes it's too watery, or too sweet, but this was perfect and gave just the hint of condensed milk. The service was friendly and efficient, and the decor was pleasant. And now that I know about their Taco Tuesdays, I have another reason to go back!
