Friendliest place in town, 7/17/2013
Reviewer: Cindy from Santa Barbara, CA
We've been regular customers here for years, going at least once a month. The staff is the friendliest, and the long-time bartenders greet us by name. I love the Salmon Ceasar Salad, and the Salmon Tacos, while my husband loves the Fish & Chips. They also have an incredible children's menu that includes grilled Salmon or Chicken (not deep fat fried!) Also, unlimited popcorn scores big for kids while they wait for the food. The view, the service, the food, it all works for us.

Best value, Best location, Best owner
Reviewer: Marie from Santa Barbara, CA
Reading previous, negative comments upset me. Steve is best owner of food establishments in SB. Hands on, good management, hires students, not professionals, best view, food is very good. If you locals go there on weekends & holidays with tourists, then realize that you are a tourist too and will wait when it is crowded, know that the local students are helping parents pay their way, place is clean, friendly, and you can jump up and interrupt anyone to ask for help, service, anything. Happy hour has best food for best price. CHECK OUT others & compare before griping. To make me feel better, negative people need not take up a seat that I will happily fill with many friends and new people that I introduce to Endless. Loyal Customer since beginning!

Too expensive! Gone downhill!
Reviewer: Charlotte from Goleta
Had lunch w/ family on Memorial Day at around 3:30 so it wasn't that crazy. The service was good but our waitress had to be asked several times to bus our table! ?? I will not sit in a restaurant at a filthy table and I should not have to ask for it to be bussed, it's part of the servers job? The Bloody Mary was weak and rather boring (not worth $10-). My son and I both had the greasiest and tasteless burger I've had! They used to have a really great burger! The clam chowder was way too watery, salad was swimming in dressing (get it on the side). What happened to this place!?!? It was too expensive for how it tasted!

Fun place, more for tourists

Good place to go if Brophy's is packed. They claim to have the "Best Clam Chowder in Town", maybe this was printed before Mac's came on the scene. Brophy's chowder seemed better also, this was too watery. Burger was good. Other food was Ok. Pricey but you are paying for the view which is not as good as Brophy's but you will find a table here. Nice surf theme and laid back vibe though the service is a bit laid back too but nice SBCC for the most part waiters. A place to try when at the harbor.

Awesome Food with a Great View
Reviewer: David from Santa Barbara, CA
I had dinner here this week and the food was very good. First, the Mai Tais are the best I have had in town. The crushed ice and whatever mai tai mix they make is pretty special. The second item was the chicken nacho appetizer, it was HUGE and loaded with cheese, guac, sour cream, some kind of special sauce, and beans and I had to share it. The chips seem like they are homemade or something and extra hot and crispy. Finally the baja tacos (I got the beer battered ones) were really good, the real deal with cabbage and pico de gallo instead of lettuce. My friend had a swordfish on special and it was a huge juicy swordfish steak. The live music was definitely a bonus. Our server was really funny but I don't remember his name.

Did not enjoy the smokers

Food was good, had the popcorn shrimp, nice size portion. However (sat on the patio). had to deal with two sets of smokers which I did NOT enjoy.

Great Fish
Reviewer: Katie DeGelder from Grand Rapids, MI
I visited some friends in Santa Barbara from out of town and we wound up coming here twice. The fish was lovely (I had a great batch of clam chowder) and eating outside on the porch by the harbor was a lot of fun. All in all, it was a memorable experience.

Tasty with a sweet view!
Reviewer: Cat from Santa Barbara, CA
Fun and casual, the place felt bustling and busy without being too noisy, with beautiful views of the harbor. Most of the food was delicious, the cajun seared ahi and popcorn shrimp in particular standing out for me. I did find their lobster bisque to be rather lacking, being overly heavy on cream and not much lobster, but that was the only down spot in an otherwise good meal. Service was quite good overall, and food came nice and quick. A great lunch spot, I'd pop in again for sure!

Disappointing service
Reviewer: Shelly from Santa Barbara, CA
The setting is great, the food was good but it took us over an hour and 1/2 to get it. The restaurant wasn't full but the waiters were clearly stressed. I can't recount the litany of errors but everything took a long time, orders were forgotten, drinks not refilled even after several requests, and there wasn't an apology in sight...in fact they were a little surly. All the tables were complaining and I could forgive the restaurant for running behind if they'd at least offered an excuse like someone was out sick and they were short staffed but they didn't - so I can only imagine that it was business as normal. Its such a shame to have a location like that and decent food but the poor, poor service ruined it all. We won't be going back ever and I regret not going to the Breakwater nextdoor in the first place! You can always count on them.

Great entertainment, view, ambiance!
Reviewer: Jeff from Phoenix, AZ
The view from this location can't be beat and the surfing memorabilia make the Endless Summer a great choice for a cocktail and sandwich or appetizer. The music at the Endless Summer is provided by Chris Manning. He plays solo and is amazing. Great background tunes but also can get the crowd singing enjoying the show. The mix of acoustic and electric 60's to today tunes are exceptional.

Needs Better Trained Servers!
Reviewer: Amanda from Santa Barbara, CA
Sadly, Endless Summer epitomizes exactly what is wrong with the Santa Barbara dining scene. First, they assume everybody is a tourist and treat them as such (ship them in, ship them out). And secondly, they staff the restaurant with college students that really couldnít give a ratís you-know-what about the details or service. I know that Saturday is a busy day but I really couldnít find a reason why our server was ignoring our table because she really didnít seem to have that many and then I realized she was playing the disappearing act with all of her customers. We ordered an appetizer and did not get extra plates, and donít even bother asking for a second round of drinks because youíll just be treated like youíre interrupting something. She never came to check up on anybodyís meal or asked if they needed anything else. I could tell that the other customers around me felt the same way as I overheard their complaints. The only thing that justifies the prices is the view, the food is typical and the location is the only reason I can understand why they feel alright charging $13.00 for a chicken sandwich that looks like something from Carlís Jr.

Worst service I've ever had!!
Reviewer: Danielle from Santa Barbara, CA
I haven't been to endless summer in years as normally I stick to brophys but Friday night I thought I'd try something different. We were seated right away on the deck and only about half the tables were full. Our waiter came by and took our drinks order. I asked for a cocktail and a glass of water. He came back with our drinks but no water. I again asked for a glass of water. In the meantime we browsed the menu for dinner options. I had salmon ceasar and my boy friend had fish and chips. We each also had a soup - chowder and lobster bisque. When waiter finally came back for our order he still had no water. Once order was taken I actually got up and got my own glass of water from the bar. When food arrived mine was nothing to write home about. Bisque was average salmon was DRY. My boyfriend said the clam chowder was thin and lacking in clams but the fish and chips were good (so were fries) thus three stars. At one point waiter came back and OFFERED more tartar sauce for fish and chips. We accepted (as I had been using on my salmon too). We waited for a few minutes and waiter never came back with said condiment so we finished eating and left. Will absolutely be sticking to brophys from now on.
