Great Food and Home Delivery., 4/3/2014

I would definatley order food from this restaurant again. They have such a big variety of food all at reasonable prices. Two restaurants in one location! Will Totally stick their menu on my fridge.

A step beyond horrible ...
Reviewer: Ivory from Santa Barbara, CA
We ordered chinese - delivered - without question it was the worst chinese food I've ever tasted - I'm over 50 & have travelled around the world - just appalling. Not a single one of us would eat it. I was going to throw it away & just never order from there again but decided instead to give the manager/owner the courtesy of telling them & giving them a chance to give me my money back. Instead "Junior" was rude, sarcastic & demanded to know why I didn't call back last night?? I told him we did not eat any of it & I wanted to return it & get my money back. He actually told me there must be something wrong with me for wanting to bring his food back & refused to give me my money back as any reputable business person would. I must now try to warn you .. the public. You've been warned.

ripped off via delivery

ordered dinner for 4 at 530, after 2 hours and 3 phone calls food arrived, paid $70 and still tipped the driver, called to speak to the manager when the food obviously had been in the back of a car for 45 minutes, he offered to give me a break next time, upon serving the food we find out the hard way the food prep had been terrible to begin with so the time in the car actually softened it up a bit, called to let them know I was comming down to return the food and was told I would get 50% back, when I protested the guy told me to watch myself or he would give me nothing. food went in the trash uneaten

FOOD WAS GOOD AND TASTEFUL AND YOU GET A GOOD AMOUNT OF FOOD FOR THE PRICE! THEY CATERED FOR THE COMPANY I WORK AT AND EVERYONE LIKED IT (30 EMPLOYEES). SO I STARTED ORDERING FOR DELIVERY AND MY KIDS LOVE THE BURGERS(BETTER THEN EATING GARBAGE AT MCDONALDS,ETC) AND MY HUSBAND LOVES THE PRIME RIB WITH MASH POTATOES AND GRAVY! AND I LOVE THE TERIYAKI CHICKEN WITH FRIED RICE!! THEY ALSO DELIVER BEER AND DRINKS!!! GIVE IT A TRY AND DONT TRASH THE PLACE WITH OUT SINCERLEY GIVING IT A SHOT. THEY ARE AN A+ RATED RESTAURANT BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT! NOTHING BETTER THEN A GOOD AND SANITARY RESTAURANT!! PEACE AND LOVE

great food & service!

I don't know what happened with the other reviewers but this food is great-Maybe better kitchen staff now? There are so many bland Americanized Chinese food restaurants out there that it's a pleasant surprise when when you actually get food that is flavorful! Taste the difference in the sweet & sour sauce(no ketchup in mine) or try the potstickers seasoning. Fast delivery, yes these guys deliver! Good amount of food, fair pricing. In earlier years I worked for the best Chinese restaurant owner for 8 years- They're not quite as good as he was but really close! I will be ordering from them again!

good service, terrible food
Reviewer: mike from Santa Barbara, CA
Got some Chinese food here recently and was totally appalled at how bad the food was. I hate to give such a negative review, because they guy working was very nice and accommodating, but the food was just awful. I'll sum it up: buy pre-made Chinese food, screw up cooking it by either burning, over-deep frying, or over steaming, then drench with soy sauce, or in the case of the orange chicken, a ketchup-based sauce. Ketchup?! For the first time that I can remember, I threw out my leftovers. Oh well, at least the fortune cookie was good....

Poor Food, Nice People
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Pretty Low End Chinese on the SB scale for me. This place I think is more for catering/delivery, no parking except minimal street, outdoor seating only. People were nice(did not talk to owner), food took awhile to come out. Same place as State St Cafe(American food) in the guide. Nice that you can order from both sides of menu though.

Hey I like this place!

Yum yum yum. i just went to China Bowl for the first time and had the chicken teriyaki with fried rice and....it was aaaaamazing (disclaimer: I am a college student). SO if you want cheap food that tastes right, this is the place. Side note: they only use white meat! Isn't that nice? Side side note: they use water chesnuts! My favorite! Side side side note: The vegetables were really fresh and cut up super cute :)

left overs.
Reviewer: kimberly escobar from Santa Barbara, CA
i read somewhere that the food tastes like it isnt prepared right. but the thing is it just needs time to suck up the flavor. i just ate left overs and omg it tastes way better the next day. :)

Try Somewhere Else
Reviewer: Michael from Santa Barbara, CA
Unless every other Asian restaurant is closed I suggest looking elsewhere. My benchmark for all Chinese restaurants is hot and sour soup. Everyplace I have been, except here, uses chicken stock, China Bowl uses brown liquid of indeterminate source that tastes like brown. If fact, the kung pau chicken was not spicy and tasted like brown. The eggplant vegetarian tasted like brown. It all tasted like brown.

Food was great...i had the Kung Pao Chicken and it was super dank(real good)...fried rice the same...pretty much people who didn't like it must have had a wierd random experience. I have done electrical work for them and watched them make their food right when people ordered and then proceeded to watch people love it and say they did. Carlos, the owner, is the man...and the service and delivery kick ass...so if you are one of the people unlucky to have a one bad experience...don't trash a place until you really tried it.
