Our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara..., 5/6/2013
Reviewer: George Banks from Santa Barbara, CA
No one will replace GLORIA, but the pretty young girl whose name I think is Tiandra is a very close second. She does a lovely job, polite, courteous, professional, bright and beautiful. The food is 5 star... Leo makes the BEST margarita on the planet... Sincerely, George Banks...

As good as I remembered, 9/30/2012
Reviewer: BuleriaChk from Santa Barbara, CA
I hadn't been to the Chase for quite a long time, but the Chicken Picatta is every bit as good as I remembered - even better than that of Presto Pasta, which I also like. I was alone, and there were no single tables available outside, so I had to eat at the bar (I REALLY miss the old days when the Chase had tables inside instead of those lounges from the East Coast 1950's)... There was a good portion of chicken, tender and breaded perfectly in that delicious lemon sauce.. (Palazzio isn't even CLOSE in flavor, even though the portions are gigantic).

We used to go eat there all the time when it was in Westwood, I looked all over for lobster piccatta but none came even close, this is including New York City. you have to try it its the best.

Food Was Great...Service, not so good!, 8/4/2012
Reviewer: Melissa from Santa Barbara, CA
My husband and I were in town from Moorpark for a meeting. We decided to try this cute establishment. The door greeter was great, seated us and asked for our drinks. Very polite and attentive. It took the waitress some time to come over and take our order. The door greeter gave us cheese and bread which was delicious. The waitress finally came over to take our order - it took forever to get our food. The door greeter asked us if we needed a refill and bread/cheese. He was very attentive to our table. Our food finally arrived and it was delicious - it could have been warmer, but it was still very good. Our waitress was not attentive at all. If it were not for the good food, I am not sure I would ever go back to Chase Restaurant & Lounge. Customer service should be number one if you want return business. Our day of dining was Monday, July 23rd - 11:45 AM.

Nasty Hostess, 7/7/2012
Reviewer: art from Santa Barbara, CA
We went to your place last night for HH. The bar was packed and the restaurant was empty. You have a couple tables right next to the bar but that nasty old hostess you have would not let anyone use them. Most of us HH people are gone before you dinner seating begins and a full restaurant makes people think something good is going on inside and want to go there. You need a host like the guy at Cielito's, which is were we took our $130 and will continue to do. Your food is great but that first impression, the hostess, is very bad.

Worst restaurant on State?
Reviewer: Stu Miller from Santa Barbara, CA
I had lunch here once and it was okay - standard Americanized "Italian" food - think red sauce with lots of cheese. Was walking down State street the other night and on the spur of the moment said, "hey let's get a bite to eat." What a mistake. We stood there at the front of the restaurant for nearly 5 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge our presence. The bartender was busy talking to the drunks there for happy hour. Finally I realized that the woman talking about her weekend plans on the phone next to us is the hostess. So, as I turn to walk out the door, she finally asks, "Can I help you?" Not anymore, you can't!

Good food, lousy service
Reviewer: Colin from Santa Barbara, CA
The food was as expected, but this horrible waitress ruined the entire evening. I don't plan on returning, but if I do, I'll make sure to find out if she's there. Worst service I've had from a restaraunt with this quality food. For the amount of money it was, you think they could get rid of this girl.

Very disappointed in the customer service
Reviewer: Julie Martin from Goleta, CA
First off, I love the food at Chase and always have. I reserved a table for my daughter's birthday at 6:30 on 11/22/11. At 7:10, after we finished our salads, we were asked to move to a different table by our waitress because "the next party was a regular and always had the table we were seated at." After commenting, "You have got to be kidding?" we moved to another table in the middle of the floor. Why were they more special than my party was? And how did they know that being a Santa Barbara native, I was not a regular also? If it had not been for the fact that it is was my daughter's birthday celebration, I would have handled things differently right then and there. At the end of our meal, I asked for the manager's name. I called the next day to get an explanation as to why the party at 7:10 was more special to take over our reservation at 6:30. I did not receive a returned phone call. In fact, I called four times to talk to resolve my issue. After the fourth attempt to reach the general manager, I decided to post this. I am disappointed in the accountability and ownership of the value of customer service at Chase. I will not return to the restaurant again.

Best Chicken Picata

The only staff present was the Bartender!!
Reviewer: Teena from Santa Barbara, CA
Let's hope the woman at the "hostess" post was the owner, other wise ??? She seated us promptly. The "waiter" who I must say seemed more like the bus boy? I'm sorry but though he was "nice" and tried to be "professional" something was just off .. In any event, I mistakenly ordered the rib eye (at an Italian place, guess this was a bad idea!!!! Hubby ordered the lasagna. Took a little while to get our soup (french onion, again bad choice on my part) and the salad (hubby said it was good.) I ordered my steak medium. 20 minutes after soup and salad received my steak VERY well done.Hubby's lasagna was FINE. nothing to write home about. My second steak was well ... RAW bleeding with dried out "skin" .. needless to say, hubby was done eating and I was DONE waiting. They lost our credit card .... One GOOD POINT - the grey goose 12.00 dirty martini's were great and the bartender poured my second table side. Will Only go back for the yummy martini perfectly made!

Useless waitress/bad additude
Reviewer: Linda Dillon from Santa Barbara, CA
Our waitress took back a dish that was too salty and did not return until we were all finished and finally gave my friend her food. With a boatload of bad attitude. When I asked to speak to the Maitre d, she said "you mean my fiancee?'. When he came over, we complained about her attitude and the guy kicked us out!! Paying customers with a legitimate complaint got kicked out, Absurd. I will never go back and plan on telling as many people as possible not to go there. The food we did get was completely forgettable. Give it a pass and go to Blush. Constructive criticism would be to fire both waitress and Maitre d and to get better food on the menu. The atmosphere borders on cheesy and I felt way too young to be in there. I had been here before and gotten indifferent service and uninteresting food.

Great Food & Service
