Way better than expected , 1/13/2014

I was skeptical how a restaurant could survive on just serving brats but I found they offer salads, waffles, and a diverse happy hour menu, which makes it easier for groups and the ambiance is a lot warmer than appears from the outside. A good German brat is miles above your standard hot dog and they serve it on a traditional German bun and give you choices of toppings and every table has like 5 different mustards. Their beer selection is huge and full of beers I've never heard of. It might take some sampling (which they let you do) to find your perfect beer/brat combo but its worth it. I mainly go on Tuesday nights for the "tasting tuesdays" $6 for 3 five ounce pours of any draft beers. Best deal in town and best location in my opinion. And the staff are actually genuinely kind.

Brats were good, but the Fries were the best ever!

We tried Hoffmann Brat House for the first time 11/9/13. My Spice Brat was great (though slightly over cooked, but I'm okay with that), while my gf's standard Hoff Brat was middle of the road (didn't have the overcooked issue I had). But thier Fries were probably the best I've had anywhere. Everyone has their own opinion on fries (steak vs shoestring, crispy vs soft, ect), but for us they were amazing and all 4 dipping sauces were great. We had no bad experiences with the service, just took slightly longer than we'd prefer (considering it wasn't very busy). We will definitly go back.

Atmosphere: This place is located on the corner of Paseo Nuevo. It is a two story building and has a wrap around terrace where you can watch the street traffic and get fresh air. Service: We came late at night, order at the front and found a seat on the terrace. Food came quickly, and waitress checked in on us. Food/drink: We ordered the sauerkraut dog which came with fries and a beer. The dog was great, the caramelized onions on it were a fantastic touch. Summary: This spot has been MANY things over the years. I think Brat Haus is a great place of late night fare. I usually donít eat this type of food but it was fun and tasty.

I was skeptical, but I really like this place

Great brats, toppings & tasty home-made bun. Can't wait to go back.

ALL TIMES!!!

Ah bro, this place is all time. ALL TIME!!! They serve up a MEAN brat with the finest of trimmings bro, and bra the service is like family. I was visiting friends for a night on the town and let me tell you right here and right now brah after a few rounds of cold ones at the local bars and partying it up with my true bros, brah this place delivered a much needed feast. The Hoffman Brat with cooked sauerkraut and cooked onions and spicy mustard hit the spot like no other followed by the 100 year old recipe brat. Bro, it's 100 years old and I had it with the fresh sourdough bun and with whole mustard bro. Washed it down with a cold German beer in a glass that was 2 FEET TALL!!! Bra! This place is TOTALLY legendary bro and bra I highly suggest anyone with the munchies to visit this fine establishment ASAP. Brats, sides, cold beer on tap after a night with your bros, it's all you need in SB bro!

Wanted More- Couldn't Get

We loved the brats, fries and beer but once the initial order was delivered we didn't see another employee come anywhere near our section. We would have at least gotten another round of beers and dessert but didn't want to go downstairs and wait in line again. The ordering system was confusing and a little inconvenient. We'll give it another try but hopefully they'll have the service kinks worked out by then.

It's pretty good

The food is pretty good. Too much bun for the sausage and the peppers could be cut a little smaller. But the variety of brats, beer and mustards is very good. The fries are good too and so are the prices. The service is a little shaky but it is difficult to use the number system. If you are sitting far away from the kitchen, upstairs, they have to come searching for you. Otherwise I recommend it.
