I go to Zizzo's all the time. The employees are so friendly and personable. I love the coffee. So glad it's in Santa Barbara. Try it soon!

Waaaay better than Starbucks!, 9/23/2009
Reviewer: Jami from Santa Barbara, CA
I am addicted to Starbucks so I speak with an experienced palette. The taste of Zizzo's coffees are delicious. I am excited about the Mexican mocha because they actually use the Mexican powder my abuelita used to make me cocoa with. Very nice coffee spot to get a great tasting coffee on the go. i never wait more than 3 mins for my drinks.

Just what GOLETA needed, 9/21/2009

I was so happy when this place opened up, the flavors and quality of the coffee is much better than any of the places that I've been to. I must say that I only order blended coffees but all that i have ordered are great (caramel sensation & mexican mocha are my personal favorites). I have order a couple of their pastries and they were also good. The service is always warm and inviting. They havent given any reason to complain so I still go as often as the wallet lets me ;)

A Pleasant Place, 6/16/2009

As a visitor to Goleata ( visiting Family), coffee has been a bonding tie for my daughter and myself & it is a standing date. My daughter told me there was a new coffee place around the corner and asked if I would like to try it. I was very pleased with the Coffee, Service and Atmosphere. Not only was the service good they went out of the way to ensure our comfort level by asking if the music was too loud. Zizzo"s is our new early morning hang-out, excellent coffee, great people.

Best coffee in town!, 6/1/2009

This place is exactly what Santa Barbara needed. There are no other coffee houses in Santa Barbara that match up to Zizzo’s (well maybe Java Station.) Regardless, Zizzo’s surpasses other chain coffee places, including Starbuck’s and The Coffee Bean. They offer a wide selection of drip coffees on a daily basis and a variety of hot and cold drinks. The Mexican mocha is amazing! I usually only stop for a beverage but they do have a good selection of pastries (the raspberry streusel muffin is great!) and the atmosphere is very inviting. I can see how this would be a great place to study or just chat with a friend over a great cup of coffee. Overall, their customer service is always outstanding. This is my new regular coffee spot! The only drawbacks for me are they only have one decaf drip coffee option and even though I usually do a half-caff coffee blend, it would be nice to have a decaf flavored coffee option. Also, they close on the earlier side. Other than that, no more Starbuck’s or Coffee Bean for me!

Nice, classy place. Good coffee and acoutrements, 4/9/2009

The coffee is good and the breakfast burrito is outstanding. They take their coffee as serious as a winemaker would take their wine. I witness one of the employees tasting a coffee and explaining it...impressive. I saw the review below..that's too bad that person experienced poor service. I always speak up when that's the case (never had poor service at Zizzo's though)and it has never failed me.

hmmm... what am I missing?, 4/8/2009

Really? I've stopped by this store twice now- not impressed either time! The first time the drink was flat, made with milk that was not steamed properly. My boyfriend said it was good while we were in the store, not wanting to be rude, but when we walked out the door he threw the vanilla latte away! I talked with one of the owners. I really love coffee and was curious about thier selection of beans- he wasn't able to give me good information or even tell me where thier roasting plant is located (maybe it's a secret?) They do have innovative drinks a la peanut-butter mocha etc. Unfortunately, thier creativity doesn't make up for the lack of training and organization in the store. My second visit the drink was much better, actually it was delicioius! However, I waited, for literally 6 minutes before the lady acknowledged me. The lady spent a good chunk of time chatting with a regular even after he'd paid and another girl was making his blended drinks. I just patiently waited and pondered the purpose of a drive through coffee shop without when the employees either don't understand "service with speed" or don't think it's important. Yes, regulars are important, but you can't keep a buisness afloat with only one regular customer! .... they lost thier chance to have me as a regular for sure! ---After I was rung up I waited for at least 5 min. while the girls behind the counter tried to figure out who should be where- don't coffee stores normally have a barista and a cashier? Why was it so inefficient? I believe that there are good people at Zizzo's, don't get me wrong, I just don't think they understand how to do their job. Maybe it's just a new establishment trying to get on the right track ... I definitely don't think the other reviews on this page are very candid... Maybe they are all authored by the sole regular at Zizzo's coffee... Good Luck Zizzo's, it's a tough economy and Starbucks is rocking the Camino Real scene!

They stay open late for finals, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!, 3/18/2009

The drinks are constantly good, the people who work there are always happy and kind. They are flexible with their hours too, that's how I got my Zizzo coffee at 1055pm tonight!! I'd rather a frappuzizzo than a frappucino honestly, their drinks just taste soooo much better, and cheaper too !!!

Cool place!, 3/16/2009

This is a sweet little coffee place that's out of the way. I had a Mexican Mocha ice-blended, which was yummy. I wish the place was a bigger with more tables and later hours. Even though it's near UCSB, it's only open until 9:30pm on some evenings. It's open later until 11pm during finals week but students stay up much, much later for studying. Service was excellent! Gave great advice on what to choose. I plan to be back when I'm in the area again.

Drive through latte in Goleta? Yes! I went through the drive through this morning at Zizzo's. My vanilla latte was great as n my croissant was warm! Yummy! The service was, as the dude said, "Awesome." I'll be back.

Drive-Thru Coffee!!!, 1/27/2009
Reviewer: April from Santa Barbara, CA
I have been to Zizzo's twice now since it opened and love it! As a mother of three children, having a coffee place with a drive-thru is a dream come true. The selection is incredible (with different options then anywhere else) and the service is outstanding. My latte was the best I have ever had and their Passion/Green iced tea is incredible. Both visits I have had the person at the window introduce themselves, answer all my questions and offer great ideas of what to try. I am a Starbucks lover but will drive out of my way to go to Zizzo's.

Nice Addition, 1/24/2009

Just tried Zizzo's today. Service was polite and professional. Mexican Mocha was FANTASTIC! Just the right balance of chocolate and cinnamon. I was surprised that there weren't more customers, but I am sure that has to do with still being fairly new. Best of luck to Zizzo's!

Nice people, 1/18/2009

People are very nice. Sandwiches were decent, pastry options were good, maybe out a little too long though. Good smoothies. Worth a try, apparently this is a national coffee chain.

Very exciting and refreshing new coffee house, 1/17/2009
Reviewer: Brooke from Santa Barbara, CA
As a student at nearby UCSB and a resident of the residence hall down the street, I was very excited at the opening of Zizzo's. Not only was their latte delicious but their service was extremely friendly. They were very excited to see how my friends and I liked our beverages and all seemed very excited about working there! I will be returning frequently because their little seating area is so pleasant and perfect for studying. The fresh flowers especially add a cheery touch that make the whole place even more charming. It is so nice to have a new, nice coffee house in the neighborhood with reasonable prices, good service, and great coffee!

Will Be a Regular!, 1/13/2009

I had eagerly been awaiting Zizzo's opening on Storke Rd. Stopped by the first day and tried their "Joe's Blend." It was enough to bring me back - but pleasant interior and friendly staff (who remembered my name on the second visit!) are a bonus. Their wi-fi is easily accessible for internet users (no need to buy a card or any such nonsense) and the drive-up window will come in handy for those needing an early cup on the way to work. I have only tried the biscotti from the menu: softer than most, almost cookie-ish, and very good. Only negative: I hope they start keeping the television turned off until requested by a customer, or special occasions. Music seems more appropriate to a coffee house.

New, clean, and great coffee!, 1/13/2009
Reviewer: chee from Santa Barbara, CA
This place offers a great selection of coffee and because it's a brand new place, the service is simply stellar and the staff seems genuinely interested in helping you get the drink of your choice. The whole building and furniture seem brand new and impeccably clean, and they even decorate the place with fresh cut flowers. There's free wi-fi here and outdoor seating, with quite a few power outlets to plug your laptops into. I got a simple americano, which was smooth and had good espresso flavor. Zizzo's (unlike other coffee chains) offer $.60 refills for their americanos, which makes me happy. Their baked goods looked pretty good, and they said that they were going to soon be offering sandwiches toward the end of the week. It's kind of a small establishment, so I hope it won't become overly crowded or tarnished too quickly. I'll definitely come back soon!

Great coffee & service has finally arrived in Santa Barbara!, 1/13/2009
Reviewer: Jamye Hanrahan from Santa Barbara, CA
Since I take my coffee black (no sugar, cream, syrups, etc. to mask the true flavor) I find myself much more critical of most coffee houses than others might be. I went into Zizzo's curious and wondering how they would measure up to some of the other local coffee places in town. I was pleasantly surprised by the polished and cheery interior with its inviting fireplace and good smells emanating from behind the counter. With six options on drip, I was able to take my pick from a number of delicious sounding coffees. I went with the brazilian dark flavor and was happy I did. A strong, smooth flavor, it was not the least bit bitter nor did it have any aftertaste. Great coffee! I returned later that evening with family and was pleased to see their smoothies and pastries also hit the spot! This is a great addition to the Santa Barbara scene!
