best viet food in goleta or sb, 3/30/2014
Reviewer: me likes pho from Santa Barbara, CA
not a big variety of authentic asian food in town but this place is a gem. if you know what to expect when eating at this kind of join you'll love it. no frills and truly great food for unbeatable prices. i've eaten here once a week for the past 4 years.

Bo Luc Lac Friday Night
Reviewer: Ginger from Santa Barbara, CA
Not known for my adventurous palate, I went with a trusted friend. Trust your friend. The food was excellent. The young man who served us was very helpful. The price seemed reasonable and the portions were perfect - assuming you're hungry. I forgot to see if there's a take-out menu. I will be back!

SUCKED!
Reviewer: Bevis from Santa Barbara, CA
Poor quality ingredients, very poor service. They had one guy working the whole restaurant and running the register during lunch...service was non-existant. The Bun was the worst, the rice noodles were over cooked and so dry and heavy with no vegetables, except a few pieces of wilted lettuce and a couple sprouts...lame. The Bun at Siagon Noodle House in Kmart shopping center blows this hole away. Never going again, poor food and service too many times.

Bun Bo Hue
Reviewer: Lil from Santa Barbara, CA
If you haven't tried Bun Bo Hue this is the only place you are going to find it in town. It is my favorite soup on the menu. The soup is made with beef stock and flavored with chili oil among other spices. Noodle city prepares theirs so everyone can tolerate the spice level but provides chili oil and jalepenos so you can turn up the heat. Probably one of the most effective cold remedies I've ever tried. All the dishes I've tried there have been great. Crispy fried shrimps, pork chops and rice, egg rolls and the vietnamese coffee are some of my other favorites.

delicious! always leave happy

I love Noodle City! Most authentic Vietnamese food in Santa Barbara! Service has always been great and the owner lady is a character, although that's often misinterpreted as bad service. Why do people expect to be treated like they're something special when all they're doing is showing up to eat good food?

Bun Bo Hue!!!
Reviewer: Huyen from Santa Barbara, CA
Only Vietnamese restaurant in town to carry this delicious spicy beef soup aka Bun Bo Hue. It's not as popular or common as pho, but so so delicious. Stew cut beef, thicker noodles than the pho rice noodles, and a generous serving. Add the basil, bean sprouts and limes..divine. I highly recommend it if you want to try something new. I had it a year ago here, and it wasn't as good - broth was a bit sweet, but went again this weekend and it hit the spot! Place was packed with happy eaters. Service was 4 stars as the waiter got our appetizer order confused and my friends card was charged twice instead of 1/2 on mine and 1/2 on his..no biggie.

Love this place!
Reviewer: Alison from Santa Barbara, CA
This place is awesome. The lady owner is pretty hilarious, so you just have to have a sense of humor when you come here to dine. We ordered the spring rolls and even though they were out, she said they would make some for us. They were beautiful, you should try them! Only reason they're missing half a star is... no veggie pho. They do have tofu, but no variety of vegetables in that dish. Also, they're right next to Mercury Lounge... one of the only (maybe even the only) cool bars in Goleta.

Superior Pho
Reviewer: Miss Courtney from Santa Barbara, CA
Beef pho is ten times better than Saigon. Broth is more flavorful, there is more pieces of higher quality beef, and it is less expensive!

could have been in vietnam
Reviewer: louise lafferty from Santa Barbara, CA
well ...............i have been to vietnam 3 times and have struggled to find anything food wise in another city or country .but today we went to noodle city and had 6 different food dishes which were just amazing . the service was great . the plus sigh for me was that in a space of 40 mins 23 asian people were all eating in noodle city ! highly recommend noodle city .

LOVE IT!
Reviewer: Phuong from Santa Barbara, CA
I pretty much tried everything on the menu. I love the spicy noodle Bun Bo Hue, broken rice dishes, vermicelli (bun) dishes, all the appetizers. The Vietnamese coffee is awesome too. It's funny that I heard from a lot of people about how rude the owner is. In my opinion, she was very fast and attentive. $7 bucks for an awesome authentic Vietnamese meal, really people you are still complaining? The restaurant is nice and clean too, I can't ask for more. Love Noodle City!!!

Awesome!-Worth a Drive
Reviewer: Carlos from Santa Maria, CA
I live in Santa Maria but get a yen for good cheap Vietnamese food such as you find in all over the place in San Jose. I got a takeout order of Pho (#6) and another recommneded dish, (#41) and paid less than $20 for them. Both were awesome! The ingredients were fresh and tasty. All the reviews who complain about poor service are totally missing the point. This is a mom-and pop shop, not The Wine Cask. You are paying great prices for awesome food, not SB prices for great service and so-so food.

Good food but..
Reviewer: Xiao from Mesa
We can all say that noodle city has pretty good food for its price, but their service leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The many times i've been there there has been a nice teenage boy and girl working but the older lady was very rude. Only coming back for pick up orders.
