Great Food, Nice People
Reviewer: Tina from Carpinteria
We go to Hugo's for breakfast a lot because we can sit outside with our dogs. They know us there and are always very friendly. Their eggs benedict is the best...the hollandaise sauce it great.

Blah...
Reviewer: Jason Koivu from Carpinteria, CA
Not impressed. My very average tasting chicken stir fry was the best thing we got. It was "delicious" compared to everything else though. The clam chowder was too milky, but kudos to them for actually including clams (or at least a decent simulation), which not all clam chowder makers do. The fish & chips were below bland, over-breaded, and lacking in flavor, aside from overused oil. I'm not much of a cook, but even I could microwave up something more palatable than this.

Asian Diner
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
More of a diner with Asian entrees available. The Asian bowls are great. Not open in the afternoon. Food was really good and the portions were big. Cook/waiter was really nice. Seating a bit limited.

Great Food and Service
Reviewer: Jane Louie from Santa Barbara, CA
I've been here so many times and I'm always satisfied. The service is great and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is a of classic diner mixed with Asian fusion. Their food ranges from pancakes and omelets to chicken bowl and udon(asian thick noodle soup). As a local who has lived in Santa Barbara my entire life, I can say that a restaurant like this is hard to find.

Decisions, decisions...
Reviewer: Gary Fields from Carpinteria, CA
I am one of the most indecisive people I know. That's why everytime I go to my local favorite, Hugo's, I spend more time staring at the menu than I should. There is a great selection of food for both breakfast and lunch. I can never decide between their amazing omlettes and their jumbo french toast or the superb bacon burger and the delicious Teryaki chicken bowl. No matter how much time I spend deciding on food, though, I never overlook a choice at Hugo's because of the quality. I've eaten almost every item on their menu and I've never been disappointed. The service is also great. It's a great place where I'm always greeted with a beaming smile. The service is so fast that I'll usually have to tell the waiter to come back 2 or 3 times before I'm done deciding what I want. No matter when I go to Hugo's, I never know what I want. But what I do know is that no matter what I get, it'll be fantastic.

Often overlooked, but worth the visit
Reviewer: Ashley from Santa Barbara, CA
I live in Santa Barbara, but work in Carp - and am frequently confronted with the debate over what to have/where to go for lunch. I drove past this place many times - on my way to Uncle Chen's or Rudy's - but decided to stop in for a visit this time. The service was excellent, very friendly and polite. They have a very eclectic menu - and eventually, I came to the decision to order a chicken breast and avocado sandwich. It was good - not great, but definitely worth eating. All the ingredients were fresh and crisp. This place is worth the trip if you want something fast and can't figure exactly what type of food that you want.

Delicious and Friendly

Eating is believing! This little restaurant in a strip shopping center is a gem! The service was friendly and fast. A vast menu with delicious asian food and american food. I had the Teriaki chicken and was treated to a full course meal. I cannot wait to return to the coast for a meal here!!!
