I love this place simple and well stocked condiments of salsas ect.. fast response, healthy portions and great prices ! Ill definitely be coming here while shopping on state street

Good Food, try another place if want to sit
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Really tiny Rudys. The food is good but no seating. The salsa bar or drink dispenser fits one person at a time and tightly. The food was put into one to go bag helping to dump the contents instead of separating the orders. The Rudys on upper state is probably the best I've been to when you can find parking. Food was good.

The Special Really Was Special
Reviewer: Krista English from Santa Barbara, CA
I have been to Rudy's in Buellton and Goleta and always stuck with same old off the menu tacos. I happened upon the Rudy's at Paseo Nuevo and was surprised to find that the special of the day - 3 Pastores Pork Tacos with homemade corn tortillas - was out of this world tasty! For $6.85 you get 3 rather large tacos, packed with meat ingredients and flavor. I've had many tacos, but this was the Mexican equivalent of the Chinese delicacy, Mu Shu Pork. Fantastic and for a great price! The cashier was friendly and helpful. The cooks don't speak English which I think might be why it tasted so good...authentic! Maybe they've improved in their cleanliness and service since the last reviewers. Either way, I'll be visiting them again in a few weeks.

All the pigeons converging on dirty tables was nasty.
Reviewer: Mike from Santa Barbara, CA
I like Rudy's food and have eaten at his places often over the years. The place is Paseo Nuevo is not the brightest star in his empire. Please tell your employees that when bringing out food for customers they might want to think to clean up a bit before going back inside with empty hands rather than do nothing. There were several tables vacant and dirty that attracted hoards of pigeons. They peck at the food on the tables and flick bits onto the other tables...including mine while we were eating. So I took it upon myself to clear three messy tables just so I could eat comfortably. Get a clue and keep your place clean, inside and outside. Thanks!

Go to the Montecito St location instead.
Reviewer: Matt from Santa Barbara, CA
I love Rudy's, well, at least the Montecito St. location. Rudy's has, in my opinion, the best breakfast burritos in town by far, but at the Paseo Nuevo location they just don't try hard enough. I got a cold reception and service and a poor attempt at a burrito (negligible amounts of bacon!) The folks at this location need to take more pride in what they do because I know they have the potential.

Service... not so great.
Reviewer: Erica from Santa Barbara, CA
The food is VERY GOOD, but the service is not so great. I showed up to one their restaurants 45 minutes before closing time and was told they were not serving certain dishes because they were getting ready to close. The salsa station was empty and their cashier was not very friendly.

Excellent Bean Burrito
Reviewer: Michelle from Tampa, FL
The bean burrito was very good. I would go back there if I return to the Santa Barbara area.

Best breakfast burritos
Reviewer: Jennifer from Santa Barbara, CA
I haven't found another restaurant in Santa Barbara that makes a better breakfast burrito than Rudy's. I started ordering them for office parties and ended up turning my entire office onto Rudy's. Their lunches are amazing as well. Great quality and flavor; fresh ingredients is a major plus. Their salsa is incredible and the staff is friendly. I would recommend Rudy's to anybody looking for a great mexican style meal.

Go to other Mexican restaurants in the area

Took our chances with Rudy's tonight. Though service was prompt, the food was lackluster. Food lacked flavor and the temperature was not to par. Felt like the food was just reheated and slapped into a burrito. The better location is in Goleta, but if you're in the Paseo Nuevo area, take your money elsewhere.
