Real Mexican food at good prices!, 9/17/2009

Went to Rudy's after hearing about the good food and was not disappointed. Small restaurant with just a few tables but the salsa bar is outstanding and the menu offers tacos, burriots, enchiladas, tortas, and various combinations ( and even breakfast too). I got the combo with cheese enchilada (sauce was delicious) and carne asade soft taco (tons of meat!). Definitely will be going back - and trying their other locations!

ATTENTION TOURISTS - YOU HAVE BEEN MISINFORMED. Rudy's, not La Super Rica, is the #1 Mexican restaurant in this town. I've eaten at this Rudy's hundreds of times over the last 20 years and can count on one hand the number of times I've been disappointed. Why spend an hour in line at La Super Rica when better Mexican food is available in minutes at any of the Rudy's locations? It's relaxed, casual, and delicious, so it's always a good choice when you can't think of what to eat for lunch or dinner. I'm pretty sure they must have their own cheese factory, because you get a hefty serving of cheese on any item. My mouth is literally watering as I write this and think of biting into a Rudy's burrito.

WHAT TO SAY ABOUT RUDY'S --- MMMMM, GREAT, AWSOME, THE BOMB , SO GOOD MAKES YOU WANT TO SLAP YO MAMA ! I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN SB MOVED TO VEGAS 10 YEARS AGO AND I ALWAYS STOP THERE BEFORE I RETURN BACK TO VEGAS ! RUDY AND FAMILY KEEP IT UP , GOOD FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE ALL THE TIME !

Great Food and Service, 3/24/2009

Good stuff, better food than I have gotten at other Rudy's in town. Nice Order taker. Good salsa bar and soda. No Mexican drinks though on tap but they do have bottled. Parking a problem here but I have found a little after 5pm is a good time to come. This looks like the first review in awhile of this place.

I don't know where to begin. We have been coming here for years and lately the service and attention to getting the orders right are non existent. Tonight we went to spend our hard earned money and actually buy food out. We ordered the food items we wanted and got two wrong items. Problem is that this same thing happened three weeks ago when we went there. I didn't go back to tell them that time but tonight I went right back and told them. They told me I ordered wrong. WELL - I am a mexican and I know what a cheese enchilda is and what a flauta is. They gave me some wet burrito and called it a flauta and they gave me a quesadilla and told me it was an enchilada. Then they told me "you ordered the wrong food". I totally lost it and took my wrong food back and left. I am so mad I am crying right now. LESSON: The customer is ALWAYS right, even when they are wrong. YOu have to know this in the restauarant business. You get return customers when a person is treated nicely and given quality food. I am so upset - I will never go to this location again. I always get good food and kind service at the Rudy's on Montecito street. What's going on here?

VERY disappointed

My husband and I have been eating at Rudy's for years, but the quality just isn't there anymoe. The food looks good and fresh, but its tasteless. The meat is dry - no sauce or spices, the beans and rice might as well have been cardboard.
They apparently have problems keeping help - especially cashiers. Tonight, in spite of ordering our for for "Here" it was presnted to us in a bag "to go." No apologies - just a shrug of the shoulders.
I doubt that we'll be going back. Ever. Too bad. We live in the neighborhood and used to go there all the time.
