Worst McDonalds in SB
Reviewer: isaac from Santa Barbara, CA
Food is always cold and old, fries soggy and salty. They need to make it when the customer orders! One time I took my time to order from the drive thru because I didn't know what to get and there were no cars behind me. I was ordering then the employee (he was a manager) taking my order forgot to silence his mic and I overheard him say, "this guy is taking too long" Of course that got me upset because you don't talk to customers like that. I told him he was rude and needed some customer service training. He tried to lie and tell me he said that to his employee because he was in a hurry. First, there was no cars in front or behind me. Second, i used to work in McDonalds (a few times in the Mesa store) and most cooks speak Spanish only so i doubt he was hurring his staff.

Bad service
Reviewer: paul from Santa Barbara, CA
I ordered my usual and the worker replies "will that be all mam" in a cocky/sarcastic tone.(BTW I'm male) then asks if I want ketchup I anwser yes. I get my food with no ketchup BTW, it's cold and old tasting. I know for this food to taste old it has to be REALLY old with alll the preservatives they put on it. Also I've been here before and they forgot to give me my big mac I ordered.(a almost 4.00 burger alone) I went today at around 2:30 pm. I hope they improve their customer service.

Food good, long wait in the drive thru
Reviewer: Glenn from Buellton
Per other people the wait in the drive thru was about 2 to 3x as long as similar places. The food somehow seemed better though than other McDs I've been to, maybe they don't use heat lamps and take longer to make the food(hence long wait) so it tastes fresher? Who knows. The inside seating is very small, no other extras at this place. The employees seemed nice and no drive thru language issues.

Charging for Condiments
Reviewer: liana from santa barbara
Ordered a chicken sandwich, coke and fruit and yogurt parfait and proceeded to pay with my debit card. After I paid I asked for a sweet and sour sauce the cashier responded the cost would be .25 cents. I told her i had no cash and she proceeded to charge my debit card .25 cents for my sweet and sour sauce. Wont be going back to this McDonalds.

LONG WAIT
Reviewer: JEFF from SANTA BARBARA
I WENT ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND ORDER A CHESEBURGER. IT TOOK ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO MAKE. WHENE I GOT MY BURGER, IT HAD PICKEL, WHICH A ASKED TO BEEFT OFF. WHENE I TOOK IT BACK, IT TOOK TEN MINUTES TO REDUE. THIS TIME, THEY FORGOT THE CHEESE. AT THIS POINT, I GAVE UP AND WENT HOME VERY HUNGERY, THERFORE I CANT RATE THE FOOD, HOWEVER, I DONT WANT TO TRY AGIAN I WENT AT 8:00PM AND COLD NOT EAT UNITLL 9:30PM. APPERAENTLY, FAST FOOD IS A OVERSTATEMENT HERE.

Repeated bad/slow service
Reviewer: Elizabeth from Goleta, CA
I love the healthier choices McDonald's has now. They are extremely healthy and very tasty. I've been going to the Cliff drive McDonalds every Monday evening for months, spending $12-$20 to pick up food for myself and my two roommates. I work full time and have a class after work on Mondays. I get out around 10pm and am very tired needing the convenience of a fast, healthy meal. The drive thru at this location is always horribly slow in the evenings, but the last time I went, May 7th 2007, it took from 9:45 to 10:12 to get 3 salads. There were 2 cars waiting to order ahead of me when I pulled up. I ordered 3 southwest salads and 1 soda. They swiped my card at 9:57 at the pick up window, after sitting there for a minute or so, they had me pull off to the side. After waiting outside for 10 minutes, I got out of my car and went inside to complain and see what was taking so long. The manager admitted they ran out of chicken and didn't realize it until I was at the pickup window. I understood a mistake was made, but he told me it takes 3 minutes to cook more chicken and offered no explanation for my 10 minute wait after pulling away from the window other than, "I'm very sorry, they're doing their best". I spent $20 for three salads and a soda and as inexcusible as the service was, it was insulting for the manager to respond the way he did. I will not go back there again. I should also add, that they forgot the limes on the southwest salads and forgot to give me straws for the drink. Going to a drive-thru should not be the most stressful part of your day. Previous experiences included them forgetting to put the dressing in the bag, giving the wrong dressing for the type of salad (asian dressing for a southwest salad) and taking 10 minutes or more after ordering food until receiving it. I've had decent experiences at McDonald's in general but this location is a horrible experience almost every time. There aren't many choices late at night up on the Mesa but I'd drive out to La Cumbre rather than go there again.
