Great time with Friends
Reviewer: Mickey from Carpinteria, Ca
I had a great time at my first visit to La Rumba. It is the type of place where you meet a new person every time. My waitress was friendly and the chef knew what I wanted to eat. I asked the man next to me what to order and he suggested that I try the burger. I doubted that a restaurant called "La Rumba" could produce something that would satisfy my pallet . Well... I was surprised. In hearing that it was my first time, Chef Fidel came to my table and suggested entree options. Finally deciding on the burger (yes, I succumbed to the American option) I was pleasantly delighted. In regards to the drinks, there was a full bar and the bartender new how to mix a stiff drink. Definitely would return. I need to get my dance shoes ready for salsa night too.

I am a regular at La Rumba. This place is amazing! The service is superb! The bartenders including Inez, Juan, Myrna & Pepe are very attentive & know what they are doing! The waitresses are kind & fast at bringing anything you order. The music is great & I love that they now have 18+ college nights on Thursdays! If you are looking for a place to have fun & go out come to La Rumba!

A place to release your stress
Reviewer: Isabel from los angeles
I was taken to this place by a friend ....i liked it because of the warm welcome by the owner who is always at the " curva del diabo" running in n out the bar making sure everybody had a shot of tequila...n giving some free drinks to the customers from time to time.....also because juanito , the bartender can please u with tv shows such as the "novelas" that way u wont miss a serie while having a strong drink n music n a good dancer to release your stress, not to mention the flower man whose always around to send the girls home happy and loved....

I am a regular at La Rumba not only for the entertainment but also for the great customer service, not to mention the food!!! Fidel(Chef)really knows his stuff he surprises me every time with a new twist to his already vast knowledge of international cuisine, Juan(bartender)is a great "mixologist",the term bartender in my opinion only applies to someone pouring a drink, not this guy!!! Al Capone and Happy feet know how to please the crowd with their music mix. not to mention Jose (owner) who makes everybody feel welcome whether is you first visit or you are a V.I.P. come and see for yourself!!! you'll find me sipping a Don Julio by "La Curba Del Diablo" (Devil's corner)having a good time with great friends...... Fun place to dance!
Reviewer: NikNik from Santa Barbara, CA
This place is really fun. I went there one night, pretty late, and there was live music and people dancing. Now, I am a white young woman but I love Latin music and food. Let me tell you, I was the only white person in the joint! But it was sooo adorable of one of the guys that works there to take my hand and show me the dance moves since I don't know how to dance to bachata, etc. He wasn't creepy at all; just very sweet. All the employees were kinda egging me on so I felt really welcome even though I had no idea what I was doing and everyone else was dancing the appropriate dance to each kind of music. The bottom line is, anyone can feel comfortable there even if they aren't familiar with the dance or music. My friend and I really had fun and loved the live music.

Do Not Wait Another Day to Eat Here
Reviewer: Mark Kriss from La Selva Beach, CA
Chef Fidel and Bartender Juan are serving up some of the best food and drink in Santa Barbara. Tonight's scrumptious St. Pat special cilantro lime Mahi Mahi was my second dinner in a week. The previous seafood risotto dinner was cooked to perfection. Juan's contagious good cheer makes me comfortable the minute I come through the door. His solid, straightforward bartenting seals the deal. Chef Fidel shares his enthusiasm for fine food during his frequent chats with his customers. And finally, the amount of money you'll save by driving a bit up State Street to this unpretentious spot surely seals the deal. Come once. I'm convinced you'll come back.
