7-ELEVEN COMING TO GOLETA

Reader Christine showed be the agenda for the June 27th Goleta Design Review Board meeting that says approval for a sign for a new 7-Eleven will be discussed. The address is 5342 Hollister Avenue, which is the home of several businesses including the Water Store and, until recently, Mama’s Bakery.

    I grew up near by, and I’m PRETTY SURE there was a 7-11 in that location about 30 years ago…

      Funny that you mention that, because it definitely has some features that look like they are from a 7-11 and I’ve always thought maybe it could have been one at some point.

    Cliff, 30 years ago that entire building was Kinney’s Shoes. I’m pretty sure it was built to be that. This seems odd since there is a 7/11 less than a mile up the road, where there is far more people and businesses.

    Water store been gone at least 6 months

    Much to my surprise that 7/11 looks like it will be opening soon. I think it took both the Mama’s and Water Store spots. That leave’s Gladden and Sons produce shop next door. They should be included in the listings here since they have salads, wraps, soups, and occasional other entrees. They are also the nicest people, and their food is really fresh. Seems like quite the contrast to 7/11.
