Read Chris sent me some updated information about the south western restaurant Verde, coming soon to 532 State Street, the former home of Zia Café.
Verde did a trial run soft opening for a few hours during the Solstice parade to try out their kitchen, train their servers, and generate some buzz. They’ll open for real in a couple of weeks. (I put a comment in the thread on your blog.) The chef, Jim Gartman, is pretty interesting and might be a good interview if you’re downtown. He’s bringing Hatch chiles in to give the New Mexico flavor to our Mexican food-saturated town. We’ve been big fans of the taste of Hatch chiles for years, and this is going to add a whole new dimension.
