LAZY ACRES MAY OPEN SECOND LOCAL STORE

Reader Jonathan tells me that Lazy Acres at 302 Meigs Road is exploring opening a new store somewhere in the area.  They are conducting market research at the Mesa store finding out neighborhoods people live in. Jonathan says that, during a recent visit, the checkout girl told him they are looking at opening a new location, and that was the reason for the research. Everyone who gave their cross-street got a free Lazy Acre reusable bag.

Lazy Acres, please come over to Milpas Street! (John, what is going on with the old Scolari’s property? thanks, LOVE your column!

    • John Dickson says:

As I understand it, one side of the old Scolari’s on Milpas will be a “Fresh Market” and the other side will be another business whose name escapes me.

  2. Alisa says:

Please come to Goleta or Noleta!

  3. Art Gaspar says:

otherside of Scolari’s building to be Walgreen’s

  4. Mica says:

I heard a while back that they were looking at the empty store front behind the Carrillo St. Starbucks.

    • Nora says:

That’s place is so difficult to get in to and out of; the
parking situation is problematic. Goleta at Fairview is absolutely
the prime location–more parking spaces and lots of foot traffic,
      too.

  5. Anne says:

Goleta at Fairview where Fresh and Easy was going to open!

Personally, I don’t feel that we need another store with “Fresh” in the name by Milpas area. We already have Fresh & Easy, Trader Joes and Tri-County produce. I think that a much better addition would be a Vallarta Supermarket to take over the whole Scolari’s building.
