Reader Bob recently discovered a local restaurant that I had never heard of (and that rarely happens):

How this one slipped under my radar for so long is a little bewildering since it’s 2 blocks from my office, but Casa de La Raza at Montecito/Salsipuedes [601 E. Montecito Street] has a restaurant in it now called “Los Amigos Cafe“. I guess they’ve been open for a while on Sundays, but are expanding hours a bit during the week, the boss went there this afternoon. Word is it’s very good.
