A new food truck named “Sam Choy’s Pineapple Express” has rolled into the South Coast. Here is a message from their web site: “Aloha, mainlanders! Welcome to Sam Choy’s Pineapple Express, the first rolling restaurants to bring the food of Hawaii’s most famous chef to the mainland. Our menu features island favorites like Sam’s slow-cooked Kalua pork sandwiches wrapped in tea leaves, Wagyu Beef with Da Kine sauce, and Maui Wowie Chopped salads. Our wraps and Big Island bowls feature Firecracker ™ rice and toppings like Kona Sunset Shrimp, Kalua Pork, Teriyaki Chicken and Ahi Tuna. Don’t get too excited……it appears they are only making
appearances in the LA area.
Saw the truck on the freeway in Goleta on Monday.
It looks like they are scheduled for 430 S Fairview on the 4th and the 18th at 11:30. Take the times with a grain of salt though. They seem to operate on island time and are typicaly a half hour late in getting it together.
Mike,
Is that info on he website somewhere?
I don’t see it either, and their facebook link is dead. How are folks seeing the schedule?
Yes, they have been in Goleta twice and are scheduled for more visits this month as noted above.
Aloha From Sam Choys Pineapple Express. We have been in
Goleta a few times already and would love to make it up to SB much
more often. If you have any suggestions as to where we could come
for lunch and Dinner we would be happy to come. We are now going to
be in Ventura County regularly and hope to create some great events
in your area as well. Mahalo Jeffrey
Yes, I would recommend that you visit the Santa Barbara City College! Call them and see where you can park. There are 2 campus sites, East and West and they both overlook the ocean. In the past, there was a Farmer’s Market event on Wednesday’s maybe 12-3 pm???
Can you let me know when you’ll be up in SB or Goleta in March??
Thank you!
