Restaurant Guy,
Please help! We are having our company’s holiday party in Santa Barbara this weekend and need a restaurant for Saturday night. We will have 12 people, and are looking for a classy but lively atmosphere with decent food and a full bar. We have a reservation on hold at Coast, but are looking for others. If you have any advice, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks!
Casey

Huyen–Casa Blanca ? Seriously ?
Harry’s is great for large parties, great drinks too.
Stu.
Yes, I’ve hosted a few parties at Casa Blanca and they’ve always taken care of us..just a suggestion. They have a beautiful space and outdoor patio, their food may be hit or miss for some people. I realize for a nicer holiday party that may not be the top choice but wanted to put it out there anyway. Thanks for your suggestion on Harry’s – haven’t been there yet and have wanted to try it..

Stella Mare (same owner as Cafe Stella) has a great sunroom adjacent to the bar that can accommodate large groups. Cafe Stella would be my next choice if you can be outside – the inside is loud and has poor air circulation.
jane doesnt have a full bar.. cielito.. thats what id do
Seagrass has an intimate private room
The roosterfish room in Seagrass is pretty small and perfect for a party of 12. The food is also fantastic. I had the best sea bass there.
A few good suggestions on here, but come on folks it’s Thursday and the second week of December do you really think any of the decent places to host an event like this will have an opening for a Saturday night this time of year and trying to reserve only a couple days ahead? It never hurts to call, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up.
It’s 12 people, not 30. Yeah, they aren’t getting a private room anywhere, but bigger venues could easily push three tables together.
The Palace; it’s lively.
Holdren’s Downtown. The Red Room is private.
12 in there would be very cozy, to put it gently.
And “private” is a bit of a stretch.
But it is somewhat seperated, and a good fit for 8ish. Maybe 10. If you’re all friends.
Go to the marquee!
Alcazar!
Anderson’s on State St. They have two rooms upstairs and the food is great. The desserts are the best!!!
Cork Room at Bouchon. Perfect for 12 people.
