Over twenty restaurants both local and from out of town will compete for Santa Barbara Chowder Champ on October 28, noon -4 p.m. at the Montecito Country Club in Food & Home Magazine’s 3rd Annual Santa Barbara Chowder Fest. Judges for the event will be Food Network’s Iron Chef winner Cat Cora and Santa Barbara’s The Restaurant Guy.
Chowder participants include: Aldo’s Restaurant, Aloha Charlie Fish Company, Arch Rock Fish, Bay Roadhouse, Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach, Chuck’s Waterfront Grill, FortunFoods, Four Seasons Hotel, Holdren’s Steaks & Seafood, Marmalade Café, Max’s Restaurant, Montecito Country Club, Museum Café, New West Catering, Olio e Limone Ristorante, Outback Steakhouse, Palace Grill, Scarlett Begonia, UCSB Faculty Club, Useless Bay Seafoods and World Cuisine Express.
Wineries: Brander Winery, Giessinger Winery, Kalyra Winery, Lieff Wines, Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards, Seawind Wines, Silver Winery, Stolpman Wines and Whitcraft Winery.
Breweries: The Brewhouse, Eureka!, Figueroa Mountain Brewery, Firestone Walker Brewing, Island Brewing Co., Jordano’s/Pacific Beverage
Other Purveyors: Cabot Creamery, Vermont, Chocolats du CaliBressan, Luna Olivo, Matilija Pure Water, Via Maestra, Westminster Cracker Co.

It’s my eldest son’s 3rd birthday party that day so I’ll be knee deep in cake and pirate booty else we’d be there to cause some havoc. Appreciate the shout out though Glenn!
I was going jump in on what a travesty it was that Mac’s wasn’t included, but as long as it was your choice and not some oversite it is acceptable. We’ll never be sure if whoever wins truly has the “best” though.

So it seems we all agree that we win? Wow, this is all happening so suddenly. There’s so many people I need to thank. I had prepared a few words but my phone hasn’t got much battery left. And let’s just throw us the humility award whilst we’re at it!
