Reader Chris tells me that “Bash“, a new wood-fired oven ‘gastropub’, is getting set to open within the Uptown Lounge on Upper State St. I’m told they will use local and seasonal ingredients on their wood-fired, thin crust pizzas, piadinas, sliders, and BBQ. Bash will offer artisanal meats and cheeses, salads, and daily specials. They will do dine-in, take-out, and catering. For more information call (805) 886-1250 or visit bashsb.com

So I’m assuming the portable WFO that has been there periodically since they opened will be more permanently parked? It seems the portable version is the only type you can get away with nowadays in SB. I look forward to trying the expanded offerings. Any update on the status of permitting the other half of the bar? Currently it’s cramped as you can’t take a drink into the second half due to permit restrictions.
