Readers Stigand and Ted tell me that “Nikka Fish and Grill” is coming to 5722 Calle Real, Goleta, the former location of Jungle George Grill which closed last March.

Interesting name. But again another Japanese restaurant right next door(Sushi Teri). I guess its profitable to have a Japanese restaurant or something.
Is this a fish store and grill?
“Nikka” is a Japanese whisky so I’m guessing standard Japanese fare but it would be neat if it was something more.
Like “La Femme Nikka,” which would combine standard Japanese fare with international espionage and tight black dresses with gun holsters.
Ok, I’m there…
Isn’t this adjacent to the Nikka market that has been selling Asian food and goods for many years? Maybe they’re expanding into the restaurant business? I hope the market isn’t closing.
Its across the street from Nikka market next to Coldstone’s(where Jungle George Grill used to be) and two doors away from Sushi Teri. I guess they won’t have to go far to move between. Sushi Teri has always been good for me so hopefully this place will too.
Nikka Market is owned by Sushi Teri folks, so maybe a fast food version or expanded menu of Sushi Teri? They do a good job in the market and the restaurants seem to be popular and do well. I have heard they also own Hennings Cake Boutique on Figuora St.
you are right they (keiko and her husband) own sushi terri, nikka and fresh and grill. i went there to buy some fish. got some fresh sardines yesterday. they were great.
the guy who owns nika market also owns sushi terri
this is great news- my daughter loves Sushi Teri! She loves nothing more than a marble soda, order of dumplings and fried rice! Can’t wait to see what they are going to offer!
I HOPE they are a fish market! Hibachi menu as well…I’m just hoping here! I know nothing of this endeavor.
