CIAO CHINO’S?

This just in from reader Nancy. I called their phone number and it is disconnected.

I was so bummed last night to discover that Chino’s Rock & Tacos (6530 Pardall Rd) appears to be completely gone! Brown paper over the windows, and I didn’t see any “we’re moving” sign or anything, (but was in a friend’s car so didn’t stop to investigate). THE BEST fish tacos in SB are now gone.

A sign on the door says “Closed for rebranding”, but who knows what that means.

I know what’s going on, but I can’t say. Stupid confidentiality.

We’re hoping they are not closed for good then, love their tacos and nachos! It’s fun to sit outside and watch the parade of bikes and college kids go by! (very entertaining).

There is a new restaurant moving into this location, and it is called “Angry Wings”. As the name implies, it will be a chicken wing joint. There is an ABC notice on the window that says they will be serving beer and wine. I know one of the owners, and he says they will be opening in July and will be serving a multitude of different wings, including wings so hot that even I wouldn’t try them. Who knows if they will do well, but they certainly have the market cornered for wing-only restaurants in the area. First one that I can think of. Curious as to the July opening…wouldn’t September be better with UCSB coming back in session? Anyway, I wish them luck.
