Savoy Cafe & Deli at 24 W. Figueroa St. was recently filmed for the Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives show. They’re having a party to celebrate the premiere on Monday, March 5 at 10pm (see photo) with live music and specials. Thanks to reader Steve for the tip!

Their stroganoff is delicious. I thnk the noodles must be homemade. Many reasonable selections for lunch.

None of the above…but probably a diner by a long stretch of the imagination.
The episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives that featured Lito’s was sub-titled “made from scratch” so evidently Guy is expanding to other catagories. I am sure there will be a similar reason to feature Savoy.
Mmm… Still confused over why Savoy was chosen and not a dive, diner or drive-in? Which we have plenty of here and many of these places do make their own dishes from scratch.
