When I stopped by the new 208 Carrillo St. Starbucks to get information & photos I took a look at the west end of the same building, rumored to be the future home of Jamba Juice and a sushi restaurant. Seeing that the building has been stripped clean on the inside, whoever ends up there won’t be arriving for quite awhile. The Carrillo St. building is the former home of Carrows restaurant.

I miss Carrows! Back in the 80′s my friends and I would spend hours studying, swilling coffee and enjoying wonderful diner food. Whatever happened to Carrows? The Goleta location is now a Denny’s….eeek!
Me too, I sat in some of those booths in the picture. I saw a Carrows in Ojai recently and they are in and around Ventura/Oxnard. Looking at Google maps they are still t/o Ca, maybe Denny’s put them out of business.
If a sushi place goes in there it’d be REALLY close to Sushi Teri House.
That Carrow’s was such a dump. I ran that property for a couple of years and they were the worst to deal with, they never maintained anything and after going through that kitchen, I’m glad I never ate there. Good riddance and its nice to see someone put some money into that building since the CIty blocked the much needed re-development.
