SAIGON MILPAS CLOSES

Reader Eric let me know that Saigon restaurant at 318 N. Milpas St (formerly Saigon In & Out) closed their doors Tuesday. Saigon continues to operate locations at 1230 State St. and 3987 State St. (Five Points Shopping Center). Reader Bob says there’s a sign in the window advertising that Mariscos Boca de Rio, which was displaced in the Fresh & Easy demo, is coming to this space.

A real bummer. We will miss the curry noodles and spring rolls. We have a great selection of Mexican on Milpas but it was nice to have more variety like Vietnamese. We were concerned when we saw multiple locations of Saigon – wondered if that was economically sustainable for them. ..

Yeah, this is a bummer for the neighborhood. It’s especially weird because every time I ate there it was packed.
