“STATE & FIG” TO REPLACE WHALE TAIL DELI

New management has taken over day to day operations at Whale Tail Deli 1114 State St. in La Arcada. Husband & wife managers Patrick Casey and Marisa Moran are also in escrow to buy the business. If escrow closes at the end of the month they plan to shutdown Whale Tail Deli, remodel and then launch a new eatery in its place named “State & Fig.”  I am told that State & Fig will be an Italian deli concept that will include a wood-burning pizza oven. Instead of a traditional salad bar there will be an antipasto bar, in addition to pizza, salads, panini sandwiches and more. Casey & Moran are currently using a “transitional menu” that includes popular items from Whale Tail in addition to many new offerings.
