This response below from reader Jonathon. Perhaps I should make a section of the guide for food trucks? Currently there is not a page dedicated to mobile cuisine.

Hi John,

How come Don Paco’s truck hasn’t made it in the guide? I believe they serve up some of the best Mexican food in town. They set up shop in the gas station parking lot at the corner of Micheltorena and San Andres Mon-Fri 8-11pm. The menu seems to change slightly daily with the meat offerings and tamales are only offered on Wednesday. I had an awesome beef and potato burrito from them recently, the pork with squash was also very good too.

You’ll definitely be seeng more activity in the mobile food truck category….However, city ordinances in Santa Barbara prohibit mobile food operators from parking/operating on city streets/ lots and the like. Only private property is exempt….( How the “O” truck has calendered and scheduled two days for “street” locations is downright weird….) Caveat emptor……

Yeah if you’ve got the time throw it in your guide like the Burger Bus. I see a new “Best of” Category too maybe? And speaking of Drive Thru it would be a nice addition to have all the Drive Thru places in a list too….hmm, another new “Best of” for next year? The only thing I don’t like about these places(like Burger Bus) is you have to leave on a mission instead of thinking about the Burger Bus like I do in car and wondering where the heck they are that particular day!

Gourmet food trucks are all the rage in the SF Bay Area & in LA… I would love a complete listing with reviews of ones in the SB area!
