Jodi House Brain Injury Walk Saturday April 6, 2013 9:00 – 2:00 p.m. Date: 4/6/2013 Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center is excited to announce its partnership with the Brain Injury Association of California (BIACAL) to put on Santa Barbara’s first ever Walk For Brain Injury. On April 6th,2013 participants will gather at Leadbetter Beach to raise awareness about traumatic brain injury and stroke in the Santa Barbara community. Participants will choose a one-mile walk or 5k run. There will be food trucks, music, activities, and exhibitors on site. All ages and abilities welcome. A percentage of the proceeds from this walk will be allocated to Jodi House so we may continue to offer a pathway for brain injury survivors to recover and reconnect with their communities. Jodi House is completely dependent upon donations and sponsorships from within our community. About Jodi House Jodi House a community based non-profit serving survivors of stroke, aneurism, traumatic and acquired brain injuries. It provides an activity-based, peer-driven day program, consisting of both structured and unstructured activities. Support groups, communication skills, exercise, music, art, Spanish language, job skills, community outings, and educational presentations are all designed to help brain injury survivors strengthen physical and cognitive skills in a nurturing, community-based environment. Jodi House also links survivors and their families to various agencies that support mental wellness, continued medical care and rehabilitation, vocational resources, social services and education programs.
