"The Quiet Man" at the Plaza Playhouse Theater in Carpinteria Date: 3/16/2013 Just in time for St. Patrick's Day - the Plaza Playhouse Theater is pleased to present the 1952 classic "The Quiet Man", starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara and Barry Fitzgerald. Showtime is 8 pm, tickets are $5 and available at the theater box office on the evening of the show. Island Brew beer on tap, wine, soft drinks, fresh popcorn and candy are sold in the lobby and available throughout the show. Synopsis: Sean Thornton has returned from America to reclaim his homestead and escape his past. Sean's eye is caught by Mary Kate Danaher, a beautiful but poor maiden, and younger sister of ill-tempered "Red" Will Danaher. The riotous relationship that forms between Sean and Mary Kate, punctuated by Will's pugnacious attempts to keep them apart, form the main plot, with Sean's past as the dark undercurrent. |
