Jeremy Denk, Piano Date: 3/9/2013 “Denk, clearly, is a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs, in whatever combination.” The New York Times American pianist Jeremy Denk has steadily built a reputation as one of today’s most compelling and persuasive artists, with an unusually broad repertoire. Dubbed the “smart pianist” (The Washington Post), for the keen intelligence and imagination he brings to his performances, as well as the humor of his writing (in his music blog, The New Yorker and elsewhere), Denk has been lauded for playing that is “effortlessly virtuosic and utterly joyous” (The New York Times). He has appeared as a soloist with many of the world’s major orchestras and toured extensively with Joshua Bell, most recently in support of their 2012 album, French Impressions.
