Ventura County Credit Union -
Financial donations will also be accepted Saturday, or they can be
deposited into a relief fund set up at the Ventura County Credit Union,
6026 Telephone Road, Ventura, CA.93006. Checks should be made payable to
La Conchita Relief.
KVTA AM 1520 has set up a La Conchita Relief Fund at County
Commerce Bank, 3260 Telegraph Road, Ventura, CA.93003. Checks should be
made payable to La Conchita Relief Fund. Donations can also be dropped off
at the radio station at 2284 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura, from 8:30 a.m. to
5 p.m. weekdays.
United Way of Ventura County and the Ventura County Community
Foundation have established an emergency relief fund to benefit victims in
La Conchita and flooding elsewhere in the county. Each organization will
contribute $3,000 to start the relief fund. Individuals, businesses and
companies can make donations to VCCF, 1317 Del Norte.Road, Suite 150,
Camarillo, CA 93010, or to the United Way, 1317 Del Norte Road, Suite 100,
Camarillo, CA 93010. For more information, call 988-0196 or 485-6288.
The American Red Cross is also collecting money to assist those
affected by recent storms. Checks should be made payable to the American
Red Cross. Somewhere on the check, donors should also state, "Ventura
storms," to ensure the money is used locally. Checks can be mailed to P.O.

Washington Mutual Bank for Jimmie Wallet - Another account has been
set up at Washington Mutual Bank for Jimmie Wallet, whose wife and three
daughters were killed in the mudslide. Checks should be made payable to
The Wallet Family and can be dropped off at any branch or mailed to

Vanessa Bryson was held on Monday, January 17th, at 11 a.m. at Christ

John Morgan - The family of La Conchita mudslide victim John Morgan
has arranged a memorial for Morgan and all other victims whose families
wish to honor their loved ones. The service was held on Saturday, January 22nd at 10:30 a.m. at Ventura Baptist Church. The church is at

Patrick Roderick - A memorial service for mudslide victim Patrick
Roderick was held on Thursday, January 20th at 2 p.m. at Ted Mayr

The Waldorf School of Santa
Barbara hosted Starlite Puppets for a special morning of puppetry for
children. The puppet story was an African tale entitled Nkosnati and the
Dragon and was held on Friday, February 18. Donations were collected from
the parents and teachers of the school. All proceeds are to be given to
the Victims of La Conchita Fund.

Santa Barbara Junior High School. An acoustic music celebration of
