PHENOMENAL all around, 7/22/2010

I tried this place yesterday. Hands down - my new favorite sushi joint in Santa Barbara, although Ichiban is a close second. I ordered 2 rolls. The prices were great, the presentation was amazing, and the taste was even better. The rolls really do come out looking exactly like the picture. Service was fantastic as well. I was actually late to meet a friend here, whose cell phone had died, so I called the restaurant. The woman I spoke to kindly tracked my friend down and told her that I was on my way. Very helpful! And let's face it...no other sushi restaurant in town can boast of that kind of view! All around great!

I live and work in the harbor and eat here several times a week. In fact I am eating one of their specials right now while I am typing this review! They make almost all their own sauces and the teriyaki is the BEST!! Great food, nice people, incredible view..how can you ask for anything more???!!!

This Japanese restaurant is probably one of the best in Santa Barbara. The price, portions, and location are all excellent. I highly recommend this place.!!!! ^_^

when i go out for sushi..., 4/10/2010

...i like generous portions. that said, i have been repeatedly disappointed with the meager and expensive rolls that pass for sushi in this town...enter sushi go-go!!! so yummy. the food actually comes out looking like the pictures on the menu! i used to live up north and would eat at yanagi's at least once a week, i was a little bit addicted and mourned the loss of my heart attack roll...well sushi go-go makes the exact same thing, it's called the jalapeno bomb and it's completely amazingly devourable! go and order one NOW! your tummy will thank you :-)
and p.s. the harbour setting is a pretty sweet place to sit and wile the afternoon away enjoying some sake and seafood...

Was expecting more from the good reviews. Its not as high quality as other Japanese places in town I've been to. Food just Ok for me and did not wow me. Only outside seating but its a nice view of boats and mountains. Nice people.

I love coming in here and having sushi. It feels personable due to being a small place
with counter ordering and the owners saying hi and being friendly, remembering you.
Always good!
Plus, Love the Harbor and Ocean air!

The Real Deal, 10/10/2009

What a treat. Great prices, generous portions, fresh, well-prepared simple sushi and rolls, plus a great ambience! The harbor. Now, make sure you grab a level table....or you will be chasing your lunch across the sidewalk. But the food is a great value, the portions generous. Nice group running things. Perhaps not an ideal dinner date spot, it is the best lunch deal in town. Green mussels are nice, and their special rolls have nice touches.

Top Notch Sushi at Affordable Price
Reviewer: Gene
from Pasadena, CA
I've been to expensive sushi bars in Indianapolis and Chicago as well as many others but Sushi Go-Go beats them all. Simple, tasty rolls and incredibly fast service. Great outside atmosphere right by the harbor. Small outside area but a wonderful atmosphere. Try the Crunch roll or the Firecracker. Washington roll is awesome too! Last time was my 3rd visit here and I just moved to Pasadena but only come here to eat sushi!

We've been walking by this place for years, & just decided to try it out last week. It's Good! So good, that we have eaten here twice in one week. Each time we ordered the Weekend Special which is nice because you get a variety of food at only $8.50 per person. The special comes with a side salad, veggie tempora, a California Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, & Chicken Teriyaki.

I have gone here sooo many times I cannot even count and it is always so fresh and so good!!I try to order a different roll each time and I am always so impressed with everything I have tried! I love sitting outside on a sunny day and having sushi and a glass of wine while looking out on the harbor! The best! Keep it up!:)

they used to own the 'Crazy Sushi' restaurant from Alhambra
Reviewer: Susan
from Torrance, CA
I used to go to Crazy Sushi in Alhambra from Brea driving about 40 minutes one way to enjoy their crazy and very unique fusion flavor. Then, I moved to Torrance and drove about an hour one way to Crazy Sushi..^^ Then, they sold it and moved to SB harbor. Honestly at first, I worried that they might've shortened their flair due to minimizing the kitchen from full restaurant to quickie..^^ But, when i visited them at GoGo Sushi, though the menu is not the same to really get their best, the quality and taste hadn't changed. I've gone to various sushi places all over Cali, I haven't found any like their quality and taste, especially with such deal now..^^ I had few friends who were very not taking chance type with different and new things and only ate either chinese or american food. But after a little forcefull try of their sushi, they found a new exciting and fun thing in their lives, eating all kinds of sushi and dring sake.. this made me enjoy my friends more often. all the thanks to the time when they had Crazy sushi in Alhambra. You could say that I made a few people fans of their cooking..^^ We go up to SB few times a year to enjoy their sushi..^^ My kids love them too..

My first time there. The food was awesome and so were the prices. The service was great too. They gave me free soup while I wanted for them to make my rolls. Will definitely go back the next time I'm in S.B.
